Avatar: The Last Airbender is set to make a comeback on two fronts. Paramount has established Avatar Studios to revive Aang and his world through fresh animated projects. Coupled with an ongoing production by Netflix Live-Action Avatar series.

While the Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series were massive epics in their own right, having a dedicated studio opens up a whole new world of possibilities for the franchise.
In a special interview, series co-creator Bryan Konietzko discussed his return to the series and revealed that they were offered a more comprehensive deal rather than signing on for each project individually.
This ensures a dedicated commitment on the producers’ part for a long-term project. One that will sustain itself for multiple projects. This Avatar Studios is gearing up for multiple projects, including the new Avatar Animated series.Â
A Netflix Live-Action Avatar is also on, apparently
While this ensures the animated adaptation, Netflix is still working on its live-action one. Although fans are still waiting for a release date and a sneak peek.

- Netflix is making progress behind the scenes, as Takeshi Furukawa has joined the project to create the music for the bending universe. He has worked on popular franchises like Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Trek: Enterprise, and the video game The Last Guardian, among others.
- Another one returning is Jeremy Zuckerman, the composer behind the original Avatar: The Last Airbender also created the score for its sequel, The Legend of Korra.
- Zuckerman has an impressive track record, having worked on notable projects such as Scream: The TV Series and Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.
The composer, Furukawa, made the significant announcement on his official Twitter account. He revealed that he would be joining the live-action Netflix adaptation and paying homage to the original animated series by taking responsibility for the original soundtrack. He intends to potentially include it in the new version.
What did Bryan Konietzko have to say about Avatar Studios?
Konietzko discussed being approached to create new content for Avatar after being away from the series for a few years. Nickelodeon’s new leadership expressed their admiration for the series and wanted the creators to return.
Konietzko, feeling reinvigorated and seeking a new environment, asked for a different setup this time around. This led to the formation of Avatar Studios and a bigger overall deal rather than just project to project.
Multiple projects and feature films are now in the works at the studio, with Konietzko teasing fans about what’s to come. The only thing left to do is wait for them to arrive!
Who are the cast in the new Netflix Avatar series
Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio Tarbell, Ian Ousley, and Dallas James Liu have been cast as Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Prince Zuko, respectively, in the upcoming Netflix series.
The production of the series has been completed, but the streaming giant has not yet announced the release date for the live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
