CoD: Vanguard Will Take Up Less Space Than Previous Installations
Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to release very soon in early November. Earlier today, Activision has revealed some interesting new info in regard to the release; giving players more incentive to play the game.
The Call of Duty Twitter account revealed that the new title will take up much less space than previous releases. By utilizing the on-demand texture streaming technology, an estimated 30%-50% or more space is being saved for next-gen consoles and the PC platform.

Community Feedback
This is great news for players. They can now install Vanguard without having to let go of games that are already present on their devices. Players have also been vocal about the amount of space for them to enjoy Call of Duty titles, complaining on social media platforms and forums. The tweet implies that Activision had taken note of such feedback from the community.
- Previous Call of Duty games has been huge packages, as they contained several modes such as multiplayer, maps, a comprehensive campaign, and a huge arsenal of weapons.
- Black Ops Cold War took up a massive 130 GB when it was launched on PS 5 and Xbox Series X. With new content and updates, this must-have taken up much more space on the consoles’ drives.
What is unclear is that, in the tweet, the first line states that there is “Good news for hard drives everywhere”, but then it goes on to only mention “next-gen console and PC hard drive”. This brings up the question of the PS 4, and whether there will be a different space requirement for it.
