After that short boss fight and crossing the gate, you’ll be greeted with a giant mechanical hand and a new set of puzzles. Here’s our guide for Daydream: Forgotten Sorrow’s Chapter 8.

Giant Mechanical Hand
- The first step to solving this puzzle is to command the archer to aim at the hand and shoot at the circle part of it. This will cause it to let go of the wooden box, which you can now push toward the ladder and use.
- Climb up the ladder with your companion and head over the edge of the mechanism. Aim at the power source and shoot it. Get the cube and place it on the power generator so you can control the mechanical hand.
- Next, turn the left crank so the mechanical hand moves toward the end of the platform. Then turn the right crank and make sure the hand is on top of what looks like a giant door panel.
- Go back to the red pull switch so the hand grabs the panel. Next, just use the cranks to align the door panel to that big opening near the magic source.
How to Cross the Bridge
- Jump and grab the rope under the small gazebo-like structure. Then, command your companion to jump. After you are lowered, jump to your right and across the bridge.
- Keep going left until you can see the target on the upper bridge. Shoot at the target twice. Go back to the power source and use it to jump towards the lowered bridge. You will use this as a ladder to help you cross.
- Then, pull the level so your companion can cross the bridge. Grab the rope again to lower it down. After she crosses the bridge, jump back down and up again to move on to your next area. After a cut scene, keep heading west.
Platform Puzzle
In this area, you’ll need to put weight on all four square golden switches on the ground. There’s also an achievement. Note:Â You can do this in whichever sequence you prefer.

Box 1:
- To get the box next to the clock, grab the console with the cube and push/drag it to wind it. Next, shoot at the glowing stone directly south of the console.
- Once it starts moving up, shoot at the stone on the west side. Quickly climb up and then grab the golden pipe. Try to be quick! After crossing, simply push off the box, and it’ll land on the first golden switch.

Box 2:
- Use the glowing ground to boost your jump and grab onto the chandelier. Swing across the wooden panel and command your companion to do the same. Grab the rope and ask the archer to step on the platform. Jump down and climb back up again.

- After crossing the platform where your companion is, head north and grab the golden pipe. Then, ask the archer to shoot at the belt of the statue with the glowing stone. Use this to cross to the other side and get to the box.
Now all that’s left to do is to command your companion to stand on one of the switches and you to the last one. This will open the door, and you can move on to the next area.
Daydream Chapter 8: Painting Achievement
Before you jump back down, make sure to grab the painting behind the wooden box. You will see where to place it precisely, found on the statue’s right side.
