A lot of users are having problems with their Facebook messenger app and the devs are yet to give a statement regarding this issue. Users reportedly cannot access the media and files on their accounts and are afraid they might lose them permanently.

As of this writing, there is no solution for this problem and all we can do for now is wait for a possible update once the Facebook Devs address this issue. It is important to note that the said issue is only exclusively on mobile devices. Some Users reported that they were able to access their files and media by installing the Messenger app on their Laptops and PCs (you can try this method).

Back up Important files and media

In the meantime, users are advised to back up their important files and media to avoid losing them permanently. You can also try logging out of the app and logging back in or reinstalling the app to see if that resolves the issue. However, these steps may not work for all users.

• Many users have taken to social media to express their frustration and disappointment with the ongoing issue of missing files on the Facebook Messenger app. Some have expressed fear that their valuable photos and videos may be lost forever, while others have criticized Facebook’s lack of communication on the matter.

• Several users have shared screenshots of error messages that appear when they try to access their media on the app. Others have reported that their files have disappeared altogether without any explanation or warning.

So, apparently all my media files and links have been wiped out from Facebook Messenger when the app was down the other day. Check your media, files and link folder on your Messenger to see if previously shared images are still there. Mine is gone 🤷🏻‍♂️
