Far Cry 6 New Trailer Leaked; Setting, Father-Son Information Revealed
During tomorrow’s Ubisoft Forward event, Ubisoft will be revealing the next Far Cry game, i.e., Far Cry 6. And before anyone claims (like we did) the kid is Vaas, well, he is not. A new trailer for Far Cry 6 has leaked via Juexvideo and it seems we have some new information about the game we can discuss.
First off, the leaked trailer was in French, so we’re taking help from u/Hekseville’s help in translation what the trailer said. It was a 3:48-minute-long trailer where Giancarlo Esposito as Anton guides his son Diego to succeed him.
At the beginning of the trailer, Diego is wired in, listening to music with his earphones on. And he’s customizing a model car. Anton walks in and hands Diego a grenade. He then explains to the kid how a hand grenade works. Anton then removes the pin while Diego is holding the grenade. He tells the kid not to fear because the grenade won’t explode until he drops it.
Then Anton goes upstairs with Diego following him and they finally reach the terrace of their mighty building. Inside, there’s nothing to be worried about. There’s peace. But outside, there are protests going on, and chaos is everywhere.
Anton says, “I am the El Presidente, so that means, one day, you’ll be the El Presidente; our people do not know how to be happy. They are divided. Their liberty is choking them. Even if your heart is full of love, even if you want the best for them, even if you want to save them, they will hate you, Diego. All you will say, do or think will be bad.
“They will answer you by screaming, they will say that you are the Devil, a monster. They will offer you this – (Anton shows what’s written on the grenade) Death to Castillo
“Then, tell me: Are you the Devil? Are you a Monster? Because our country is like this grenade. Except that it is made up of only two essential parts: Our people and you. You, you have to hold them tight or we will go Boom.
“You understand it now? Prove it.”
And then, Diego, reluctantly lets the grenade slip off of his hands, falling towards the hundreds of civilians protesting below. There aren’t just civilians, but forces too.
This short sequence shows how Anton is preparing Diego for his journey towards controlling and ruling the island of Yara when his father’s gone. Now, I’m wondering if we’ll play as Diego. If so, there could be two possibilities. One, Anton gets killed and we have to set out for a revenge story, or Diego learns what’s wrong and what’s right and turns on against his father. Those are pure speculations, so, don’t take them as facts.
In the end, we see the splash screen which says Far Cry 6 will arrive on 18th February 2020 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Epic Games Store, Uplay, and Stadia.
