Final Fantasy VI, the last in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, will be available on PC and mobile later this month, according to Square Enix. On Feb. 23, 2022, the long-running JRPG series’ sixth main installment will be on PC and mobile. New graphics and a new soundtrack will be available in the game.
Final Fantasy VI: Pixel Remaster
This month, Square Enix will release their latest Final Fantasy pixel remaster, this time focusing on FF6, as promised in a broader sense back in December. Square Enix now has some latest information to their earlier news, announcing that Final Fantasy 6 will be on Steam and mobile platforms.
FF6, which debuted on the Super Nintendo in 1994, will get a pixel-to-remaster treatment. Fans can expect updated 2D pixel character and background art, a rearranged soundtrack supervised by original composer Nobuo Uematsu.
- Also, improved gameplay including a modernized UI and auto-battle options, and a bunch of other quality-of-life enhancements.
- This remaster will contain the option to save your game at any moment. Also, a bestiary, image gallery, and music player, among other features.

Those who pre-order this game on Steam before its February 23rd release will receive a number of goodies.
- Locke’s Theme, The Decisive Battle, Terra’s Theme, and Searching for Friends all have Timelapse Remix versions, as well as an instrumental version of Aria di Mezzo Carattere. Pre-orders also come with a set of wallpapers based on the various pixel remaster versions.
- Square’s Final Fantasy 6 pixel remake will cost £12.99 when it hits on Steam. Mobile versions should be a little more expensive with pre-orders receiving a 20% discount. You can go all-in & buy the package for £54.54 that includes all of the Final Fantasy Pixel remaster versions.
