Fortnite Server Maintenance / Downtime v28.20 | Server Not Responding Possible Fix (February 7, 2024)
Fortnite servers will be down and having maintenance on February 7, 2024, in preparation for the upcoming 28.20 update. The ‘Servers Not Responding’ issue is one of the more recent issues gamers have encountered in Fortnite. It’s a problem that affects players across all platforms. Participants may need help with issues that prevent them from playing this game because it is played online.
Epic Games’ Fortnite, a famous online game that can be played on various platforms, was published in 2017. Battle Royale, Creativity, and Save the World are only a few of the game’s modes, all of which are entertaining and popular with players. To win the game, you must construct structures and scavenge for weaponry.

Servers Not Responding – Fortnite 28.20
The Servers Not Responding error implies that the servers are temporarily down or that you cannot play Fortnite due to a problem with your setup.
This error can happen on any platform. Your game becomes unplayable as soon as the problem appears on the screen, as it will not allow you to reconnect to the internet.
SERVER STATUS
Frequently, the problem is Epic Games’ fault. Servers will be taken offline on a regular basis for maintenance. Check the Epic Games Server Status website or Twitter for news on server maintenance to ensure that all services are up and running.
There’s nothing you can do if it indicates the servers are down for maintenance. You’ll have to wait until the process is completed before proceeding. This can happen for several hours or even days.
If the servers are up and running but you’re still getting the Servers not responding message, try hitting the RETRY button several times to get online. However, it is very likely to fail. Troubleshooting your network connection is the next step you should do.
RESTART / REBOOT DEVICE & ROUTER/MODEM
- One of the simplest ways to fix many common problems is to restart your device, whether it’s a PC or a console. This procedure clears any problems that are hindering your gaming by resetting the program.
- You should reset your router and modem to further troubleshoot your network connection. To do so, just disconnect your routers and modem, then wait at least 5 to 10 seconds before plugging them again in. When it’s okay, start Fortnite and it should be able to connect to the internet.

Honestly I thought it was because of my device, I tried to shut down my device and then restart – problem reoccurred.

I tried everything I tried deleting every single game on my PS5 then formatting it then I took the hard drive out then I deleted Fortnite installed Fortnite then deleted it again then installed it again waited in the queue for 1hr 42mins watching the timer, Frantically trying to get online and then I read the comments because that’s the order I do things. FDS.

Yeah servers aren’t working. My wife and I both restarted our consoles. Trouble shot the network. Made sure that Fortnite updated. It’s not working. My wife is currently sitting in a 50 minute queue. I don’t get it.

It worked for a wee while, played two Squads games and both teams I was in were absolutely annhiliated…was about to play the third Squards game and Fortnite crashed…I’m sure that Epic Games should be aware of the amount of player logging back in after almost 5 years of this game being up and running but they always seem to be caught off-guard. Not a very good start for Chapter 3 Season 2.
