Fortnite has been known for its crossover events. Other battle royale games have not been able to imitate Fortnite in this aspect. Recently, there have been rumors that there is to be a crossover with the social deduction game Among Us next. HYPEX, a known Fortnite data miner and leaker, announced that there is an upcoming collaboration of Fortnite and Among Us.
This was after he discovered a file that contained specific keywords that appear in both Fortnite and Among Us. The fact that the keywords “Tasks” and “Sabotage” were also among them was the main reason.
Among Us Devs Respond
- Following this announcement, the official Among Us Twitter account made a statement to prove HYPEX false, stating that this was just a rumor and nothing more.
- The statement denied all claims that there would be a crossover among the two games, bringing disappointment to fans, but also mentioned that the idea of such a crossover “would be super cool.” Fans are yet hoping that there is a chance that this official denial is just an attempt to keep an exciting Fortnite x Among Us crossover episode under the wraps.
Among Us, released in 2018 by InnerSloth, became one of the most streamed games of 2020. The main reason that the rumor spread so quickly was the fact that Among Us had a crossover with Fall Guys earlier in the year, which may have led to great expectations from the fans about another crossover.
It may just have ended in disappointment, but it is yet to be seen if the official announcement is just a ruse to keep the actual event hush-hush.
