Gamers confuse “Bodycam” with “Unrecord”

BY JC Paredes 2 years AGO 2 MIN READ

You might’ve seen some insane clips floating around lately—shaky first-person firefights that look more like leaked military footage than a video game. Here’s the thing: it’s NOT Unrecord, the super-hyped bodycam shooter everyone’s been buzzing about. It’s a game on Steam called Bodycam by Reissad Studio.

So, Why the Mix-Up?

Both Unrecord and Bodycam are built on the same wild idea: a game that looks like you’re strapped into a real soldier’s bodycam. They’re all about crazy-realistic graphics, shaky movements that’ll make you dizzy, and an overall feeling of “Am I about to get blasted?” It’s pretty intense, and the gaming world is split on whether it’s awesome or awful.

Feature

Unrecord

Bodycam

Initial Announcement: October 2022 April 2023

Gameplay:
Story-driven
Single-player experience
You play as a police officer
Multiplayer focus
Military setting
Current Status: In development Early Access on Steam

No wonder everyone’s confused. Both trailers dropped are identical, both are first-person shooters, and both look so real you can practically smell the gunpowder. But that’s where the similarities end.

Picking Your Poison

  • Unrecord: Intrigued by the bodycam concept but want a story? Keep an eye on Unrecord. It’s got a ton of potential, but it’s still in early development.

“We have noticed some confusion regarding Unrecord. The name has not changed. Our game has not been released yet and we are still in active development.”  – Unrecord (via X)

  • Bodycam: Want to jump straight into the action? Bodycam’s a good choice, but be warned, it’s a bit rough around the edges (it’s brand new!).

Whether you’re Team Unrecord or Team Bodycam, one thing’s clear – this bodycam shooter style is shaking things up in the gaming world. It’s bold, it’s experimental, and it’ll be interesting to see if it survives the hype. Just remember, gamers, make sure you’re talking about the right game before you start a flame war in the comments, alright?
