Genshin Impact: Will Raiden (Baal) Be Playable?

BY JC Paredes 5 years AGO 2 MIN READ

Design art for the highly anticipated Inazuma region was seen during the recent live stream from dev miHoYo, reigniting curiosity in the upcoming nation and its Archon, Raiden, also known as Baal!

Who is Raiden / Baal?

The Electro Archon in command of Inazuma is Baal, also known as the Raiden Shogun and the God of Eternity. Over numerous missions and NPCs in the game, we by now know a great deal about her. At the conclusion of the Liyue main campaign mission, we understood 3 key ideas from Zhongli!

  • The Inazuma Archon has made it impossible for anybody to reach or leave her island region.
  • While Archons are meant to bestow Visions, the Archon of Inazuma has ceased doing so at the moment.
  • She confiscates Visions of Vision bearers in her territory via the Vision Hunt Decree.

Character Model

Since purple is the trademark hue of the Electro element in Genshin Impact, it’s assumed that the Electro Archon will dress in purple. There hasn’t been any official design for Baal released yet.

There’s no way to know exactly what the Electro Archon will appear like until miHoYo uploads official illustrations for them. Previous Archons, such as Barbatos, have been identified to take human forms, so there’s a decent possibility Raiden / Baal will be depicted as a human at some stage during the narrative.

Will Raiden / Baal Be Playable?

  • If you’re curious to know if Raiden / Baal will be playable, there’s no way to know right now. Even in the game, we haven’t seen Baal yet after hearing about her from Zhongli.
  • Nevertheless, since Venti and Zhongli are playable characters in the game, we can assume Raiden / Baal to join them once the Inazuma region is introduced. The Inazuma region will be included in the 1.6 Update, which is expected to be released in June!
