Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered

The 2009 action-adventure video game adaptation of the popular franchise, Ghostbusters: The Video Game, might soon get a remastered version for Xbox One.

A listing for Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered has appeared on Taiwanese game rating website GameRating.org.tw, detailing the prominent features of the game. Mad Dog Games, known for developing games like NBA Playgrounds and World of Speed is listed as the developer and publisher of the game. Although the date of listing is not mentioned, the website has rated it to be a “12 and above” game.

The website linked in the rating page was not live at the time of writing. We’ve also made efforts to contact Mad Dog Games to comment on the same.

From what my friend from Taiwan has claimed, the website is legit and for games to be officially published in Taiwan, one needs to register their game on this particular platform. However, as far as he knows, GameRating.org.tw is almost a self-serving and automatic platform. Developers need to claim the elements of their game(as guided by the website’s multiple choices form) following which, the website will assign a rating for the game.

The original title was developed by now-defunct company Terminal Reality which was led by veteran programmer Mark Randel. The studio made over twenty games during its days, until December 12th when the company was shut down.

Whether or not the remastered version will be released on other platforms is the question. If for PC, will it go the “exclusive” way? Guess we’ll find out.
