Ancient Nightmare location and how to defeat
Before you set out on a journey to fight against this World Boss, keep in mind that the Ancient Nightmare zone has its own active times. This means that if you enter the zone and the Boss is not active, then you won’t get a chance to fight against it. So for this zone, it is only active every Wednesday and Friday at 12:00 PM, 8:30 PM, and 10:00 PM (local server time).

So if you’re active during these times, here are the steps to find the Ancient Nightmare:
- Go to the Misty Valley area in Mount Zavain
- The World Boss can be found around the Misty Valley Waypoint
- A pop-up message will appear if you’re near the Ancient Nightmare
After navigating your way to where this Boss is, you should prepare yourself for a lengthy fight. Before you can actually do some serious damage on Ancient Nightmare, you first have to destroy its shield. To do this, you should utilize the Altars found along the path where the Ancient Nightmare walks.

If the Boss is near an Altar, activate it to stun the Boss for a short time. While it’s stunned, players can start attacking at the Boss to get its shield health low. Then, just repeat the same steps until its shield is completely destroyed. Just be cautious when activating the Altars since it will be useless if the Boss is not in range of its effects.
Also, keep in mind that the Altars will need the Zakarum Sigil to work again after you first activate it. To get the Zakarum Sigil, you need to defeat Lord Martanos first.
