Some articles and news related to Crypto and NFT incorporate this kind of term in their reports to instill somewhat a NEGATIVE perception of a project. While some of it is general information, some can also be propaganda to disseminate false info.

It’s quite different from FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), where the community or some groups somehow encourage you into buying more/hoarding tokens. The word itself, also suggests that you are afraid of missing out on something big, thinking that you might be able to gain something huge in the future.
