Horizon Forbidden West: How To Unlock Shops (Chainscrape)

BY JC Paredes 4 years AGO 3 MIN READ

A lot of the gameplay from Horizon Forbidden West is similar to that of the first game. This covers the fundamental fighting system, world navigation, and Aloy’s acquisition of her gear, among other aspects. Aloy is once again forced to either create her own gear or purchase it from stores in Horizon Forbidden West in order to progress. It is possible to sell unwanted goods at a shop, as well as acquire new ones. But how do you unlock shops in Chainscrape? Let’s find out! 😊

If Aloy needs a piece of equipment, it’s going to require a lot of money, yet in certain cases, stores are the only option. This implies that in order to look about the shop, you will have to have the merchants unlocked. Though not immediately available, you will be able to access the game’s stores rather early on.

Shops open after you’ve finished the most of first part of the main plot.

Once you’ve completed these tasks and Aloy has gained access to the rest of the world, you’ll be able to explore the various stores. When you arrive at “The Daunt,” a landmark in Horizon Forbidden West, you will know that you have entered the “open” area of the region.

Aloy and Ulvund

From here, you may continue on through the game until you get in Chainscrape; this is where the first markets and vendors are located. However, due to Ulvund’s oppressive rule, these traders are reluctant to supply Aloy with any goods.

Chainscrape is under Ulvund’s control, and the shopkeepers are forbidden from selling anything to Aloy.

Ulvund, the area’s “leader”, must be approached before any purchases may be made. “Deep Trouble” and “The Bristlebacks” are the two missions you must finish to interact with Ulvund. Afterwhich, he will permit the vendors to converse and offer goods to Aloy.

Aloy and Javad the Willing

To begin with, these are two simple tasks that may be completed in Chainscrape without much difficulty. As long as you keep following the green exclamation marks on the map, you’ll soon be purchasing goods from Shops! 🙂
