How to Beat Black Knight Edredd | Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Black Knight Edredd is not here to play nice. This brooding enemy in the Fort of Reprimand is packing serious heat and some killer moves. Here’s your guide in taking down this tough knight.
Phase 1
This winged warrior wastes no time getting up close and personal with a mix of ground and aerial assaults.
- Spinning Slash: Edredd spins rapidly with his blade. Roll away to avoid. Dodge those twirls as best you can because they deal a lot of damage.
- Plunging Attack: When Edredd takes to the skies, brace yourself for a devastating divebomb. Time your roll right or get pancaked.
- Soaring Blade Slash & Winged Combo: This knight’s got a need for speed. He’ll come at you with a whirlwind of winged attacks. Don’t get caught in the crossfire. Be prepared to roll or block multiple times.
Dodge, roll, and dodge again. Then, unleash your fury when he’s catching his breath. A shield can be your best friend here. Keep your distance and pelt him with spells like Rock Sling or Carian Greatsword. When he takes flight, dodge like your life depends on it.
This knight’s got a weakness for blood loss. Equip weapons like Rivers of Blood or Eleonora’s Poleblade and watch his health drain faster than your patience during a FromSoftware loading screen.
Phase 2
Halfway through the battle, Black Knight Edredd goes into overdrive, adding some fiery flair to his repertoire.
- Ghostflame Ignition: His blade gets a fiery upgrade, making his attacks even more deadly. Keep your distance, or you’ll be extra crispy.
- Winged Flurry: This is Edredd’s version of a tap dance, but with swords and wings. Get ready to dodge a whirlwind of pain.
Those attacks hit harder now, so don’t get too comfortable. After his Winged Flurry, Black Knight Edredd takes a breather. That’s your cue to strike. His Ghostflame Ignition is a close-quarters nightmare. Keep your distance to avoid getting roasted.
Additional Tips
- Pay attention to his moves so you can anticipate what’s coming next. A moving target is harder to hit so don’t be a sitting duck.
- Don’t spam your attacks and roll like a madman. You’ll run out of steam quickly, and you won’t be able to dodge when you most need it.
- Use those Flasks of Crimson Tears and consider summoning spirit ash for backup damage and distraction.
- Use Opaline Hardtear. This Physick mix gives you a damage negation boost, making you tougher than stale bread.
