How to make a furnace in Minecraft
Fire up your creativity (and fuel the forge!), Minecraft makers! Crafting a furnace is crucial to smelting ore, creating food, and unlocking your blocky world’s limitless potential. Let’s acquire some cobblestones and be creative!
Materials:
- 8 Cobblestones or 8 Blackstones
- These are the building blocks for your furnace. You can mine them easily with any pickaxe.
Crafting Steps:
- Open your crafting table.
- Arrange the cobblestones or blackstones in a square shape, leaving the center square empty.
- Drag the resulting furnace icon to your inventory.
Placement:
- Find a suitable location on the ground.
- Place the furnace down in your inventory by clicking or tapping on it.
Fuel and Smelting:
- Open the furnace interface by interacting with it.
- Place fuel (coal, wood, etc.) in the bottom slot.
- Place the item you want to smelt (ores, food, etc.) in the top slot.
- The furnace will start smelting the item, taking time-based on the type of item and fuel used.
- The smelted object will appear in the rightmost slot, ready for collection.
Tips:
- Planks may be made from wood and then used to construct sticks. Sticks are a renewable energy source.
- Lava buckets can be used as an infinite fuel source, but they are more difficult to obtain.
- You can smelt numerous objects simultaneously by filling the top slot with them.
- Furnaces are also useful for cooking food, making them a multifunctional utility.
