Pokemon GO Ditto – How To Catch, Counters, Easy Guide
Ditto is one of Pokémon Go’s most elusive creatures. By following a few simple steps, you can get it more quickly!
You only need to be aware that Ditto can take the form of any other Pokémon, so you’ll have to capture Pokémons “blindly”. Then check if it turns out to be Ditto by chance.
It’s impossible to tell if Ditto is hiding behind a common Pokémon. It isn’t visible on the world map or in capture mode. Ditto is only discovered after capturing it with the Pokéball.
Fortunately, since its introduction in the game, its spawn rate has increased. Making it less of a rare Pokémon. It is now much easier to locate it, and it is well known that it prefers to haunt certain areas. That is if you hear from friends or other trainers that a Ditto has been captured by a particular location, go there and look for it. You’ll likely see it as well.
It is currently the only way to catch Ditto, as the Pokémon does not appear as a result of hatching eggs or as a reward for raids or research tasks.
How to catch Ditto?
There’s a chance you’ll come across a hidden Ditto or another Pokémon while exploring, but you won’t know until you capture it. A large number of Pokémon are worth catching because they could be disguised dittos.
As of March 2021, only the following Pokémon have a chance to be a Ditto in Pokémon GO:
- Bidoof
- Foongus
- Gulpin
- Bravo! Bravo
- Hoppip
- Numel
- Stop
- Beet
- Spinarak
- Whismur
If you get an “Oh?”, congrats! You’ve captured a Ditto!
Other tricks to catch Ditto
Some tricks may make it easier to catch Ditto, in addition to taking into account the Pokémon this elusive creature can “dress up” as.
Ask your neighbors
Ditto and other strange creatures frequently appear in specific locations, so you can ask other players if they’ve seen him for more information.
Use incense and decoys
Feel free to use lures and incense to entice the Ditto to come to you. These elements have been shown to “invoke” Ditto.
Follow in the footsteps of other players
Dittos are the same for all players, unlike Shiny Pokémon, which can appear for some players but not others.
This means that if a player discovers a Ditto in a complete location, you will almost certainly discover it as well and be able to capture it if you visit the same location.
If you follow these suggestions, you will almost certainly find and capture Ditto sooner or later.
Ditto: attacks and combat information
If you’ve read this far, you’re probably wondering why Ditto is so special to Pokémon GO players.
In reality, it’s a highly adaptable Pokémon who, thanks to its ability to transform into other Pokémon, can be extremely useful in battle.
It’s because having a Ditto in our Pokédex allows us to mimic the attack abilities of the Pokémon we’re fighting. Furthermore, its combat attack can deal 16 points of damage per second to the opponent.
Furthermore, if you send Ditto to the gym, it will keep its CP and stats by transforming into the opponent’s Pokémon. Neither you nor another Ditto will transform if you fight them.
Ditto is a Normal-type Pokémon, so it is vulnerable to Fighting-type moves.
The following are the five most powerful Pokémon you can use to defeat Ditto:
- Lucario
- Conkeldurr
- Breloom
- Machamp
- Blaziken
