Fortnite update v24.10 introduced the Easter Event through the Spring Breakout 2023. And to celebrate the festivities, chickens have gone wild and started laying eggs all across the island. And collecting these eggs grants you perks or items that will help you gain a Victory Royale.
It’s Easter time, and following the traditions, you are tasked to gather as many eggs as you can throughout the map. Rather mundane on first look, collecting them in the game can end up giving you a hefty amount of experience points. So, without further ado, let us guide you in this collection process.
How to gather laid Eggs in Fortnite
There are two ways you can approach it. One being the direct route where you find a source and gather the eggs from the spot. The other method is kind of a cheese and is somewhat necessary for the Fortnite Spring Breakout 2023 event. Here are the two processes.
The direct approach
1) Finding a Chicken
With the update v24.10, Epic Games added Spring chickens to the battle royale title. Now the hardest part of the process is finding a chicken in the first place. These creatures are scattered all over the island and are especially hard to find at the moment of need.

But where do you usually look for a chicken? the obvious answer is a farm. And Frenzy Fields being a farm area is where the biggest concentration of chickens can be found.
2) Wait for it lay an Egg
Once you find a chicken, you need to wait for it to lay an egg. According to the game mechanics, these creatures lay an egg after a set interval of time. So, in most cases, you should find an egg lying around the found chicken itself.

If that does not happen, waiting for a few seconds should reward you with a laid egg. Once you see an egg, get close to it and interact with it to reveal the content inside.
The cheese approach
In the current Fortnite Spring Breakout event, the number of eggs needed for each stage of challenges start increasing. And there are a total of three stages in the challenge.
On top of that, finding a few chickens is very tiresome work to do. Let alone waiting in an open area for eggs just to be found out by enemies is even more hazardous.
So, you can take the rather unorthodox but quite simple process available in the game. Here is how you can gather multiple eggs safely to complete the said challenges.
1) Find a Chicken
What you have to do is silently creep up on a chicken without startling it. Once close by, interact with it to pick it up. Usually rushing to it at an optimum distance helps you to easily grab it.
2) Fina a safe place and lock the chicken inside the enclosed space
A rather weird mechanic exists in the game which allows chickens to lay eggs faster indoors than outdoors. While players don’t really know if it is a glitch or a bug, they sure do exploit it now. Once you find a safe indoor space, release the captured chicken and close the doors to enclose the space.
Now wait for a short time and the chicken will end up laying a huge number of eggs all around the room. One point to note here is that you can only do this in existing buildings. player-made structures do not work for this cheese method.
