How to Beat Jagged Peak Drake | Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

BY JC Paredes 2 years AGO 2 MIN READ

Let’s dive into another Shadow of the Erdtree boss and face off against the Jagged Peak Drake, a fiery bad boy with a shocking attitude.

LOCATION:

Jagged Peak Drake #1 The first encounter is on the way to the Jagged Peak, right after entering the area from Dragon’s Pit. This one is unavoidable as it blocks the path forward.
Jagged Peak Drake #2 After defeating the first drake, continue up the mountain path to find a Site of Grace. Just past this grace, you’ll encounter two Jagged Peak Drakes simultaneously.

NOTE: If you run into two Jagged Peak Drakes, let them duke it out. Then swoop in like a boss and finish off the survivor.

Phase 1

  • Fire Breath: When the drake takes to the skies, dodge to the side.
  • Lightning Strike: See those glowing spots on the ground? Those are your cues to move. Dodge them!
  • Wing Swipe: Stay close to the drake’s legs to avoid getting smacked.
  • Stomp: As soon as the drake lands, roll back like you’re dodging a boulder. Trust me, you don’t want to get stomped.

Keep moving and attack from a distance while the drake’s airborne. Focus on hitting its legs until it stumbles – that’s your chance to go in for the kill!

Phase 2

  • Bite and Tail Swipe: If the drake’s jaw starts snapping, move to the side. Keep your distance and watch out for that tail
  • Charge: If the drake starts charging, channel your inner Usain Bolt and sprint to the side or roll away like a ninja.

Let your spirit ash buddy handle the aggro while you attack from the flanks or rear. Watch out for Jagged Peak Drake’s wide attacks, and keep dancing to avoid getting cornered.

Additional Tips:

  • Find cover behind rocks or anything else you can find. Every little bit helps. Focus on breaking the drake’s posture for massive damage. It’s like knocking the wind out of it.
  • Make sure you’re around level 100 or higher. We’re not messing around here. Grab some fire-resistant armor and a weapon that packs a punch.
  • Whip up a potion that boosts your resistance to fire or lightning (for example, Flask of Wondrous Physick). Trust me, it’ll come in handy. Summon a tanky spirit ash like Black Knife Tiche or Lhutel the Headless to keep the drake occupied while you go to work.
