Is Hogwarts Legacy safe for Children? – Age rating
Weeks after its launch, the Harry Potter-inspired video game, Hogwarts Legacy, is getting a lot of love from Potterheads and even muggle gamers. Hogwarts Legacy Age Rating: Is it safe for children?
According to PEGI (Pan European Game Information), Hogwarts Legacy is rated at PEGI-12. This means that persons under the age of 12 years old will not be allowed to buy a copy of this game. They have given the game a PEGI-12 rating because “it features moderate violence and use of bad language”.

However, other websites like ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) and Common Sense Media have rated Hogwarts Legacy rated T (Teen 13+), just a bit higher than PEGI’s judgment. All of these make sense because Hogwarts Legacy also features violence, alcoholics, and a bit of blood. Also, let’s not forget that there is a morality bug in the game since you can cast Avada Kedavra or other curse spells on your classmates and professors without getting a penalty. It’s safe to say that, although kids even younger than 10 have the skills to play the game, Hogwarts Legacy is not yet suitable for children below 12 years old.
