Lakers Wins in OT Thriller Against Raptors
March 18, 2022 – Russell Westbrook came up clutch in the 4th quarter, hitting a dagger three to force overtime against the Toronto Raptors.
The Raptors had the inbound pass set up but Russ (Lakers) was able to steal the ball from Scottie Barnes. With just a few seconds remaining in regulation, Russ showed up in crunch time and made a crucial three-point shot to force OT.
Westbrook was playing well for the Lakers that night, putting up a nice triple-double (22 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists). LeBron James, on the other hand, was an unstoppable force in transition. James tallied 36 points, 7 assists, and 9 rebounds.

The Lakers beat the Raptors at Toronto, Canada, 128-123.
Though the rookie Scottie Barnes was an absolute beast in that game, his performance was still not enough to get the win. Barnes recorded 31 points and 17 rebounds, while VanVleet and Trent Jr. both helped with 20 and 23 points, respectively.
Toronto Raptors is one of the best defensive teams in the league but they were nowhere near stopping LeBron James in the paint. The Lakers’ offense was flowing smoothly and was shooting well from beyond the arc (44.3%). Russ was also hustling each time down the stretch and showed up in the final moments of the game.
With their win against Toronto, the Lakers are now 30-41 but are still on the 9th seed and are most probably going to be in the Play-In spot. Raptors, on the other hand, fall to the 7th seed in the East (39-31).
This game could be a glimpse of how good the Lakers would be if they just sync perfectly.
They hustle on defense, have great ball movement, and are efficient in scoring. If they would be able to replicate this kind of play in the coming playoffs, who knows how far they’d go!
