Las Vegas and Seattle, Rumored to Get an NBA Team in the Future
There are rumors spreading in the NBA that they might do another league expansion in the future. Reports also say that the target locations are Las Vegas and Seattle. Though there is NO concrete evidence if this is true, fans are already feeling excited and elated.
This rumor has been going on and on around the league for a while but has never gotten to reality. If this ever comes true, the NBA will expand from 30 teams to a 32-team league.
Basketball fans know that Seattle is not new to the NBA.
Back in the day, SuperSonics played in Seattle (now Oklahoma City Thunder) from 1967 to 2009. If you open the history books, you will see some legendary names pop up like Gary Payton, Detlef Schrempf, Shawn Kemp, Ray Allen, and Kevin Durant.

Vegas, on the other hand, has not been in this landscape before. Though they have an NHL team (Golden Knights) and an NFL team (Raiders), they are still yet to see the bright lights of the NBA.
After all, Las Vegas and Seattle would be perfect destinations for an NBA team. Both cities already have huge arenas and are great locations for sports fans. Vegas has the T-Mobile Arena, while Seattle has the Climate Pledge Arena. Not to mention, Las Vegas is already a plethora of gamblers.
Why is LeBron’s name involved in this expansion?
Only two former NBA players became NBA team owners: Michael Jordan (Charlotte Hornets) and Shaquille O’Neal (Sacramento Kings).

But, last year, LeBron James expressed his desire to own an NBA team in the future
“I’ve always said that my goal was to own a team, own an NBA team,” James replied to a question regarding team ownership in the future. “I’ve got so much to give to the game. I know what it takes to win at this level. I know talent and I also know how to run a business as well and so that is my goal. My goal is to own an NBA franchise, and it’ll be sooner than later.”
Even with all of the rumors and reports, is still not clear if the NBA will be expanding soon, at least not in the next couple of years.

I do miss the nba in Seattle. That’s my hometown I love Seattle😍
Hello Mukibi! We also miss the sight of the Supersonics in the league. Who was your favorite Sonic of all time?
LBJ time to out a team back in Canada, Vancouver got robbed once. With a population of 13.5 Million people in Western Canada you’d have a extraordinary fanbase and you’d be forever treated like a god in Canada, not like a king sir James!
