Last of Us 2 To Run On PS5 “Without Issue”; More Games Could Follow
In a recent interview with CNET, Sony Interactive Entertainment President & CEO Jim Ryan confirmed that Last of Us 2 (or The Last of Us Part II) will run on the PS5 without any issues.
Talking about The Last of Us Part II, Ryan said, “We hope this’ll be a defining game for this generation.” He then went on to confirm that the June 19 version of the game will run on the PS5 without any issues.
This, however, is not universal and does not apply to all PS4 games coming out sooner or later. But it’s a no-brainer PlayStation will remaster Last of Us 2 for their next-gen console.
PlayStation is still keeping quiet about the PS5’s backward compatibility and there haven’t been many discussions about the feature so far. While Microsoft is focusing on the feature aggressively, for Sony, it doesn’t seem to be a top priority.
Today, Sony announced the long-awaited PS5 June Event. On June 4, we’ll get a look at many next-gen games coming out for the PS5.
The PS5 is still on track for Holiday 2020 and Sony expects to have a grand global launch.
