The long waited Summer Game Fest 2023 is finally here. The show highlighted a couple of well-known platform games, one of them being Like a Dragon Gaiden – The Man Who Erased His Name. Here we are going to talk about how to pre-order the game!
What is Like a Dragon Gaiden?
‘Like a Dragon: Gaiden – The Man Who Erased His Name’ is a spinoff in the long-running ‘Like a Dragon’ (formerly Yakuza) series. This Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio game brings players into a fascinating mystery involving the beloved character, Kazuma Kiryu.
- Set after the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Kiryu is the main protagonist in the upcoming game.
- He is now living under his made-up name, Joryu. To recap, Kiryu changed it after successfully taking down Tsuneo Iwami, bringing unwanted attention and danger to his name.
- To stop his family from being targeted, Kiryu forces Daidoji’s successor to fake his death, exiling himself from the surface world to protect those he loves, thus the new name ‘Joryu.’
- Unfortunately for Joryu, he now lives in danger as someone seeks to reveal his true identity.

Like a Dragon: Gaiden is announced to be released on November 9th, 2023. This was revealed during the Summer Game Fest 2023. This announcement indeed grabbed the attention of long-time fans of the Yakuza series.

Currently, the price of Like a Dragon: Gaiden is all the same on different platforms. The full price also includes exclusive access to the Legendary Fighter Pack, featuring:
- Goro Majima – The Mad Dog of Shimano
- Taiga Saejima – The Slayer of Eighteen
- Daigo Dojima – 6th Chairman of the Tojo Clan

You can pre-order from all platforms mentioned above today. Although the pre-order has been released, there is still no exact information on when the physical version of Like a Dragon: Gaiden will be available.
In this highly-anticipated new Yakuza spin-off game, veterans and new players can expect new exciting experiences. In the previous series, players could experience the tough life of a Yakuza, brawling with the other Yakuza families. Players can experience the same awaited features for the upcoming Sega game but with higher definition and new combat mechanics.
