My Strange Addiction: Still Addicted? is reviving the controversial show for a new season, bringing back some old casts and introducing new people with concerning addictions. The TLC show began in 2010 and ran for five seasons until 2015, introducing several cases along the way.
Although the cases didn’t always qualify as addictions, they introduced the audience to various obsessions requiring a psychiatric diagnosis. At its peak, the show received critics’ and audiences’ criticism for emphasizing the cast’s various inclinations and habits without helping them.
US Weekly criticized the show for spending too much time showing the strange behavior of the individuals. They note that therapists only pay the patients a visit in the final moments and provide suggestions for exercising and journaling rather than suggesting more substantial treatment.
- One of the featured cast named Lauren, who appeared as a furry, later disclosed on a Reddit post that the makers are eager to find more bizarre addictions and that the show is scripted or guided. She also answered various other queries in the comments.
My Strange Addiction is now returning after a decade, revisiting the casts for updates about their addictions while introducing some new and strange addictions. Here are all the casts that fans will be able to visit in the new season.
