New Splinter Cell In Production, According To Rumors

BY JC Paredes 4 years AGO 2 MIN READ

The Splinter Cell game franchise has been silent for years; specifically, since 2013, when Splinter Cell: Blacklist was launched on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, WiiU, and PC. We’ve been hearing a lot of potentially new main sequels of the Sam Fisher saga ever since, but it appears that Ubisoft has finally given the go-ahead for a new video game.

  • As reported by VGC, their source claims that Ubisoft has approved the production of a new Splinter Cell installment. It is unknown which studio is in command of its creation.
  • The details imply that it will be a new team from Ubisoft Montreal, which developed the latest entry of the saga and has recently worked on other major projects for the French company such as Far Cry 6 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
  • According to VGC sources, the project is still in the initial phases of development, with Ubisoft possibly announcing the game next year. They don’t say anything about a release date, of course.

No Comment from Ubisoft

VGC representatives tried to contact Ubisoft. However, the company refused to comment on the reported leaks after they were made public. They’ve mentioned this popular series before, but only to say that it “has a future” and that it may come back in the form of fresh events like the ones we’ve seen this year or the crossovers that have been released.
