PlayStation Job Listing Hints More Studio Acquisition
PlayStation could be looking to get more studios in the coming years, according to a new job listing. This aligns with Sony CEO Jim Ryan’s latest remarks.
PlayStation’s strategic approach is heavily reliant on high-quality AAA exclusives. Titles like Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II won numerous Game of the Year accolades. Moreover, the title sold massive amounts of copies around the globe.

Apart from being smaller in context and receiving mixed reviews, PlayStation’s latest exclusive, Returnal, was a hit. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, developed by series creator Insomniac Games and acquired by Sony in 2019, will be the next PS5 exclusive.
PlayStation New Job Listing
A job listing for a new merger and acquisitions director has been posted on LinkedIn, according to DualShockers. Additionally, this information aligns with the speculated purchase of Housemarque and Bluepoint, the designer of the PS5 rerelease of Demon’s Souls.
For the past several years, both studios have had long-term partnerships with Sony. Many people already think of both companies as Sony, but neither studio nor PlayStation has confirmed it.
PlayStation Studios is most probably attempting to compete with Microsoft’s studios. Microsoft gained a seasoned team of studios and a slew of gaming titles, such as the impending Starfield. This came from the Bethesda purchase.
There are a lot of studios that could fit into PlayStation Studios. For example, Kojima Productions, founded by Hideo Kojima, could be one of the first to connect with PlayStation. The director has spent a significant amount of time with the company, most notably with Death Stranding.
It’s also possible that Remedy Entertainment, which is widely believed to be working on a PlayStation exclusive, will be included. Control Ultimate Edition was a complimentary PS Plus game, and PS Now now has the main game.
Whatever PlayStation chooses, it appears that its efforts to form collaborations with outside studios have resulted in a wide range of options.
