Pokemon Go: Lag / Freezing Issues, Niantic Fix Update

At the beginning of its introduction in 2016, Niantic’s AR mobile game Pokémon GO gained enormous success in a short span of time. However, it appears that Niantic isn’t doing a stellar job as it once did with looking after Pokémon GO and its dedicated players. Many trainers have been complaining about lags, freezes, and a slew of bugs in the game for quite some time now. So let’s talk about how to fix these issues!

Lag, Freezes, Bugs

Following a recent update, a huge number of people citing lags at specific times in the game has risen significantly. All of these issues have been noted by Niantic, and the company’s engineering team has begun examining them, promising to resolve them as soon as possible.

Trainers may experience substantial lag and frame rate drops, and the display may lock at occasions even when Pokemon GO is running in the background, according to Niantic’s latest Pokemon GO Known Issues post. CLICK HERE to check Niantic’s latest bug fix report.

Niantic’s Response and Fix Status

Some Trainers can experience significant lag issues.
Issue description: When interacting with the game, Trainers may experience significant delays in responsiveness and slow animations.
Issue status: Investigating
Some Trainers can experience significant frame rate issues.
Issue description: Trainers may experience significant frame rate drop, resulting in choppy animations leading to increased difficulty catching Pokémon. Additionally, the longer the app is open, the more pronounced this issue may be.
Issue status: Investigating
The screen will sometimes lock even if the Pokémon GO app is open and foregrounded.
Issue description: Some Trainers will have their screen lock after a few seconds or minutes of inactivity, even while the Pokémon GO app is open and in the foreground.
Issue status: Resolved in upcoming release (0.211.1)
