Pokemon Go Mega Energy – How To Get, Use, All You Need To Know

BY JC Paredes 5 years AGO 2 MIN READ

In Pokémon GO, Mega Evolutions are centered on Mega energy, of which each Pokémon has its own category. We’ve put together a quick guide on how to easily collect Mega energy!

How To Get Mega Energy

  • Mega Raids

    • The more Mega Energy points you earn the quicker you finish them (instead of Honor Balls).
    • The Mega Energy you get correlates to the Pokémon you’ll be fighting in the raid. You can earn anywhere between 50 and 90 Mega Energy points.
  • Research Reward

    • Finish certain provisional and unique research activities.
  • Pokémon Companion

    • Earn 5 Mega Energy points for every 1 kilometer
      • with a Mega Evolved Pokemon companion.
    • It’s worth noting that each Pokémon can amass up to 200 Mega Energy. Also, keep in mind that you can check your buddies list to see if any of them have a Mega Evolution Pokémon active!

Mega Evolution

Mega Evolution is an extra evolutionary phase that some Pokémon can attain after a certain amount of time has passed. During this phase, the creature’s appearance shifts, and its stats enhance.

  • Up to 4 hours!
  • At any given time, you can only have one Mega Evolution Pokémon active. The first one will shift back to its normal state if you mega-evolve another.
  • Where can you use them?
    • Raid Battles
    • Gym Battles
    • Team Go Rocket
    • PvP

Other Benefits

  • It should be noted that Mega-evolved versions of Pokémon do not exist for all of them.
  • Within the game, there is a page of the Pokédex dedicated to these Pokémon, and you can see if they have Mega Evolutions on each tab of each creature.
  • To Mega Evolve a Pokémon for the first time, you must give it more Mega Energy. The rest of the time, however, it will cost you less Mega Energy to activate Mega Evolution on that Pokémon.
    • Activating Mega Blastoise’s Mega Evolution, for instance, costs 200 Mega Energy, but it only costs 40 to trigger the rest of the time.

I'm passionate about all things gaming, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for uncovering hidden secrets within games. My gaming journey began at a young age, captivated by titles like Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. Today, I enjoy exploring open-world RPGs and MMORPGs, consumed by their lore and crafting theories about their narratives. I'm also drawn to the suspenseful atmosphere of horror games and the intricate narratives of crime-themed titles, bringing a unique perspective to my writing. Beyond gaming, I have a fascination with anything unexplained and chilling, a passion that often spills over into my exploration of horror games. When I'm not engrossed in a virtual world, you can find me curled up and spending time with my adorable doggy sidekick, Teemo. As Managing Editor, I'm committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for our writing team. I communicate openly with my team members, addressing any content-related issues and providing guidance to help them excel.
