When it comes to technology and gaming, Microsoft surely strikes everyone’s mind. Gamer or not, everyone knows what Xbox is and how it acts as a paradise for gaming enthusiasts. From its very own gaming console and studio to services like Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft is dedicated to serving the gaming community. With the upcoming launch of Windows 11, rumors about Android Support are on the rise. Here’s what we know about it.
Android Apps Support
Windows 11 is all set to launch on October 5, and we’ve been hearing some rumors about its Android Support. Windows 11 might have a system using which you’ll be able to run Android apps through the Amazon App Store. Microsoft has made it abundantly clear that this feature won’t arrive on the launch. But it didn’t totally deny it, so we can expect it to arrive in a future update.
Microsoft has announced that it was working with Amazon (and its App Store) and Intel to bring this feature soon. Recently a post has surfaced on XDA forums, which states that Microsoft has released a new Windows Subsystem for Android apps on the Microsoft Store. You can find this feature in the store, but it doesn’t do anything yet.
If you click on the store listing, you’ll find something very exciting. The list mentions Xbox One as well, hinting at the fact that Xbox will probably support android apps as well.
Believable?
While it is a fact that the listing mentions Xbox One as well, it doesn’t imply anything specific. It could be for a range of reasons and one of them can be what we interpret. It is possible that Microsoft wants to test this feature on Xbox first and then release it on Windows.
The list doesn’t mention it Xbox Series X/S but the above-mentioned is true, we can assume that they will feature it soon as well. If this speculation has some truth attached to it, you will be able to play all the android games on your Xbox console. It will be a huge deal considering that many popular mobile games like Clash of Clans aren’t on consoles yet.
Once again, don’t get your hopes high as this is just speculation and till it’s not official, it means nothing. Though it would be a great move, it is a bit far-fetched and might as well be far away time-wise. Anyways, let us wait for some official announcements by Microsoft, and then we’ll get back to you.
