“Maybe you were abused in childhood,” TikToker ‘receives’ strange voicemail from Hinge date

We’ve all had that crazy date that made us think we dodged a bullet. In a clip posted on TikTok, what initially seemed like a concerned dad asking his daughter why she didn’t tell him she went on a date quickly turned into something… more bizarre.

Told my dad I received a crazy voicemail

TikTok user brittyg3 posted a video of her playing a voicemail to her dad that she received from a Hinge date. In the voicemail, a man named “Dimitri” apparently has been waiting for a response from brittyg3. However, the man seemed so full of himself and seemingly annoyed that she had not yet messaged or called him back.

“It’s Dimitri calling again, the guy from the street. I left you a message several days ago. I don’t like leaving second messages, but I like you. You’re a very elegant woman. You’re very attractive.”

Sounds normal so far, right?

“But I don’t play that game. So here’s how it’s gonna work. If I do not receive a phone call back from you by 3:00 pm Thursday afternoon, I’m no longer interested.”

Okay, maybe it’s just a guy getting annoyed that he did not get a reply.

“I’m very intelligent, great in bed, I make great money. Believe it or not, I’m a complete catch. Matter of fact, I’m one of the few men in the city that has nothing wrong with him.”

Unfortunately for Dimitri, it seems he doesn’t realize that there is, in fact, something ‘wrong’ with him.

“Now, I understand if you’ve got other issues. Maybe you were abused in childhood. Maybe you’re just a person who’s extremely frightened or has an anxiety disorder. Maybe you’re on medication for that. I don’t know, there could be other issues.”

At this point, her dad was understandably getting mad at this random man.

“If you’re psychologically normal and you haven’t called me because there have been some horrible things that happened in your life which prevented you, that’s fine.”

Don’t worry, it’s just a prank.

The comments are hilariously asking if Dimitri is still alive. The video has certainly gone viral, with more than 750,000 likes and more than 13.5k comments. While this clip is a prank, it shows how caring brittyg3’s dad is. It’s both hilarious and heartwarming to see.

Who made the original voicemail?

  • Behind the pseudonym “Dimitri the Lover” stands James Sears, a Canadian editor whose controversial past took center stage in January 2019.
  • Sears found himself embroiled in legal troubles for his involvement in promoting hatred against women and Jewish people.

Before his “Dimitri” persona, Sears was known for his role as editor of an antisemitic tabloid, which also served as a platform to promote his political aspirations with the unregistered New Constitution Party.

  • Sears found himself behind bars after his appeal was denied, resulting in a one-year imprisonment.
  • Despite his release on parole in October 2021, Sears’ legal woes were far from over, as he faced re-arrest in February 2022 for violating his parole conditions.
