Arlington, Virginia – Authorities responded to calls from a Washington, D.C., neighborhood. According to a report, a certain homeowner was firing multiple flare guns from inside his home, causing panic among his neighbors. It was believed that the suspect fired the flare gun more than 30 times. The Arlington County Police Department arrived at exactly 4:45 PM but the owner continued firing several rounds to the cops, which was believed to be a firearm.
“During the course of the investigation, officers obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s residence and attempted to make contact with the suspect over the telephone and through loudspeakers. The suspect did not respond and remained barricaded inside the residence,” the police statement said.

While the cops were trying to issue the warrant, an unexpected event took place that shook the whole community. A few hours after the standoff, at 8:25 p.m., it suddenly exploded, completely obliterating the house. No authorities were severely harmed while others only suffered very minor injuries. The stunning occurrence was recorded by onlookers and the video quickly became viral. Firefighters quickly responded to the fire that emerged after the explosion and at 10:40 p.m., the fire was declared over. The source of the explosion, however, is still unknown.

The Arlington County Police Department isn’t alone in the current investigation. Following a major incident that was deemed a public threat, the FBI and the ATF’s Washington Field Division are also putting their hands, trying to find the motive for the sensational attack. However, the identity of the assailant, who is still not officially identified, was later found out after a thorough exploration of the web. His name is James Yoo and you won’t believe what he has been up to in the last few weeks.
Who is James Yoo?
People on the internet were quick to identify who currently lives and owns the house that just exploded in Arlington, Virginia. According to multiple researchers, the homeowner linked to the bizarre explosion is a man named James Yoo. Very little is known about this man’s identity, but some of his personal stuff is out in the public. Yoo has a LinkedIn profile. Yoo’s LinkedIn social media is all about rants about the government and alleging his neighbors as “spies” who have been after him since the early 1990s.

Yoo also claims that he was a former Head of Information and Physical Security for an international telecommunication company. In addition, James Yoo also has a YouTube channel where he posts videos of his previous lawsuits with no audio commentary, just pure snipped photos or screengrabs from his LinkedIn profile or from his hard copies.
YouTuber JLR© INVESTIGATES! tried digging deeper to find out more about James Yoo. In his video, they found out that:
- James Yoo worked at Anderson Consulting (Chicago, Illinois)
- Yoo’s father, Ki Hong Yoo, was once involved in politics after being a South Korean presidential candidate adviser during the ’90s. His mother, Anna Shinn Yoo, was a broadcaster. Both of James’ parents passed away in that decade. He also has a sister named Aileen Yoo.
- He was married to a woman named Stephanie
- Likes to call himself “Jimbo”
- Strangely enough, he sued his whole family, including his wife, and the Rochester General Hospital in 2018. It was later dismissed by the court.
- James’ neighbors claimed that he covered his windows with aluminum foil.
What happened to James Yoo after the explosion?
An investigation is still currently ongoing and authorities haven’t completely entered the burned property. It’s still unclear if it really is Yoo behind the explosion as police reports haven’t officially stated Yoo’s name. Moreover, it’s also unclear if he was still inside during the incident. Nobody knows yet if Yoo is still alive or not.
People are calling James Yoo a lot of names – lunatic, nuts, insane, schizophrenic, and totally crazy. His social media, YouTube account, and his overall identity may look strange, but nobody really knows what’s going on with him.
