NVIDIA Gives PC Gaming a Major Upgrade With DLSS 4.5 at Gamescom 2026

Gamescom has brought fresh PC technology announcements, and NVIDIA is putting AI-powered graphics at the centre of its presence at the convention. The company has rolled out new tools for current hardware and is showing how upcoming titles will use them. PC gaming fans are seeing visual upgrades, cloud play and new devices connect under one strategy. They offer a look at where gaming trends may be heading next.

Key Takeaways

NVIDIA is enhancing PC gaming with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, new RTX features for upcoming and existing titles, and expanding its RTX Spark platform and GeForce NOW cloud gaming service.

  • NVIDIA’s DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, utilizing a new AI transformer model, improves lighting, image stability, and motion clarity by training on supercomputers rather than traditional denoisers.
  • Several major game titles, including 007 First Light and CONTROL Resonant, are launching with DLSS 4.5 and advanced RTX features, with others like Gears of War: E-Day integrating RTX Mega Geometry.
  • NVIDIA is expanding its RTX Spark platform with new partners and titles, while GeForce NOW cloud gaming is gaining DLSS 4.5 support and new device/browser integrations, indicating a trend towards connected, hardware-agnostic gaming experiences.

DLSS gets sharper

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is available now through an Early Access update for the NVIDIA app, with a full release planned for September. Its new second-generation transformer model delivers 35% more compute capability and processes 20% more parameters while maintaining similar performance to the previous version.

Rather than relying on traditional hand-tuned denoisers, Ray Reconstruction uses an AI network trained on NVIDIA supercomputers to create higher-quality pixels in areas where rays were not sampled. Improved spatial awareness, a larger training dataset and finer developer controls are designed to produce more accurate lighting, steadier images and clearer motion.

These changes also give game development teams more control over temporal accumulation to tune visuals. Among current gaming industry innovations, that focus on AI-assisted image reconstruction remains a major part of NVIDIA’s RTX strategy.

Big games go RTX

Several latest game releases are getting DLSS 4.5 or additional RTX features. 007 First Light receives path tracing and Ray Reconstruction on September 15, while CONTROL Resonant launches September 24 with DLSS 4.5 enhancements and path-traced effects.

Gears of War: E-Day is adding RTX Mega Geometry to improve ray tracing on GeForce RTX GPUs. Others include AION 2, ANANTA, Aniimo, Beautiful Light, Black State, CINDER CITY, Fragmentary Order and Silver Palace.

Beyond new games, RTX Remix now supports DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Multi Frame Generation. A new Painkiller RTX update has already arrived, while a community-made The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind RTX project is in development.

RTX Spark expands

RTX Spark is another part of NVIDIA’s Gamescom push, which arrives this fall. Electronic Arts, Embark and Ubisoft have joined earlier supporters including KRAFTON, NetEase, Riot Games and Xbox. Titles such as F1 25, Apex Legends, Anno 117: Pax Romana, ARC Raiders and THE FINALS are being prepared to run on RTX Spark devices.

Support goes further than performance, with EA working on native Javelin Anticheat compatibility for the platform. This shows how game development is stretching beyond graphics alone as hardware, AI and online systems become more closely connected.

Cloud play grows

GeForce NOW is expanding, with new DLSS 4.5 controls covering Super Resolution, Dynamic Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction. Steam Machine and Steam Controller support is coming later this year, while GOG single sign-on and Firefox support are already live.

Players will also be able to stream CONTROL Resonant, Gears of War: E-Day and other major PC titles from day one. Taken together, NVIDIA’s Gamescom announcements suggest gaming is becoming less tied to one machine and more connected across hardware, cloud services and AI-driven features.
