Cozy Life Sim ‘Animula Nook’ Hits 10 Million Pre-Registrations Ahead of Launch

Animula Nook is heading to gamescom 2026 with a new beta that gives visitors another chance to explore its tiny magical world. LilliLandia Games will offer public hands-on demos at the Tencent Games booth in Cologne from August 26 to 30.

Millions of pre-registrations suggest the cozy life sim is already attracting considerable attention before its eventual launch. Among the top upcoming video game releases for cozy-game fans, its unusual miniature setting helps it stand apart.

A smaller world

Players shrink down to explore Minietopia, where familiar household spaces become enormous landscapes filled with opportunities to build and explore. Everyday clutter can be transformed into miniature homes, cafés and gardens, while activities include collecting unusual resources such as bottled sunlight and befriending tiny creatures.

Gamescom visitors will find the public beta in Hall 08.1, Space A-051 / B-050 at Koelnmesse. This updated build brings major improvements to visuals, materials, rendering and character animations as LilliLandia continues game development ahead of release.

Several familiar environments have also received attention, including the desk, windowsill and Wupa Woods. New Minies, furniture and outfits expand what visitors can discover, while additional character customisation lets them change clothing and take photos.

The new trailer also highlights Minietopia’s dynamic day-night cycle. Those features put customisation and relaxed exploration at the centre of the experience, reflecting broader gaming trends that have helped cozy life sims find an enthusiastic audience.

Millions already waiting

Interest appears strong despite Animula Nook not having a confirmed release date. Since playtest registration opened in February 2026, LilliLandia says the game has amassed more than 10 million pre-registrations.

That figure gives the title considerable momentum as it competes for attention alongside other top upcoming video game releases. Its combination of decorating, collecting and exploration could particularly appeal to players looking for something more relaxed than many traditional gaming experiences.

LilliLandia is also making its gamescom presence difficult to miss. A fully themed booth will recreate parts of Minietopia and feature a four-metre-tall inflatable Wupa, themed music, interactive activities and photo opportunities.

Visitors who participate in the activities can enter a raffle for exclusive merchandise. Fans staying home are not completely left out either, with a virtual booth available on PC and mobile offering updates, themed mini-games and interactive experiences.

Release still unknown

Online participants can also enter for a chance to win a full collection of exclusive Animula Nook merchandise. That online component extends the gamescom promotion beyond Cologne as anticipation builds around the latest game releases still to come.

LilliLandia currently plans to bring Animula Nook to PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5. Players can already wishlist it through Steam, the Epic Games Store and PlayStation, although a final launch date remains unannounced.

With its gamescom beta arriving this week, attendees will soon get a clearer look at how much Minietopia has changed. The upgraded build could also help Animula Nook earn a place on more wishlists as players follow the latest game releases heading to PC and consoles.
