We’re almost at the end of the year but before that, Sony still has a lot in store for PlayStation users! Before the year ends, how about we take a look at the latest PlayStation 4 games still scheduled to come this 2022? Even though most of the upcoming releases prioritize current-gen consoles, there still are a few exceptions for this last-gen console from Sony.

Games coming to the PlayStation 4 this year 2022
It’s surprising that publishers are still releasing their games to the PlayStation 4 even if it isn’t a current-gen console. The list below has something for every kind of gamer. From horror games to indie games, we can expect many new games to come to the PlayStation 4 before the year ends.
October Releases

Here are some of the top titles coming to the PS4 this October:
1. Overwatch 2Â
RELEASE DATE: October 4, 2022 (Early Access)
Quite possibly one of the biggest releases coming to PlayStation consoles this month, players can enjoy Overwatch 2 once it releases on October 4. Now that Overwatch is following in the footsteps of many online multiplayer games, it’ll be free-to-play.
Side note: the game will be in Early Access, but we highly recommend you try it out and see all the new things coming to Overwatch 2.
 2. No More Heroes III
RELEASE DATE: October 11, 2022Â
Although this game was released last year, it was a Nintendo Switch exclusive. On October 11th, that’s set to change as No More Heroes III is arriving on the PlayStation consoles. This game is great for gamers who are itching for a hack-and-slash video game with great humor and animation.
You’ll be playing as Travis Touchdown as he returns to the city of Santa Destroy. Here, you’ll need to save the world from an alien invasion led by aliens who think they’re the superheroes in this one. Sounds like FU and the other aliens are the Supes in The Boys, no?
3. New Tales from Borderlands
RELEASE DATE:Â October 21, 2022
In this upcoming title from Gearbox Software, you’ll get to play as three new characters in the Borderlands series. This game has you play as Anu, Octavio, and Fran as they try and con their way into saving the world.
New Tales from Borderlands considers all the choices and decisions you make in the game, adding to the excitement and rich gameplay we’re sure this game will bring. If you pre-order the game now, you’ll automatically get the Adventure Capital Pack. The pre-order bonus pack contains the following:
- 1 skin each for Anu, Octavio, and Fran
- 10,000 in-game currency
- In-game FL4K Vaultlander figurine
4. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
RELEASE DATE:Â October 28, 2022
Another highly anticipated release for this month is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Players can drop into an all-new experience for Call of Duty on October 28, although beta testing and early access are actually ongoing right now.

If you want to take a break from playing with your buddies in Warzone, you can expect a brand new single-player campaign to release alongside CoD: MW II. The devs are also promising an improved experience with the Special Ops mode and of course, Warzone 2 integration.

1. Sonic Frontiers
RELEASE DATE: November 8, 2022
Now that more and more RPG games are dipping their toes in the open-world genre, SEGA doesn’t want to fall too far behind. We’re just a month away from zooming all over Starfall Islands as Sonic sets out to save the day once more from Dr. Eggman’s evil plans.
This game is perfect for long-time fans of the blue hedgehog as Sonic Frontiers reunites us with some of the iconic characters in the franchise. Did we mention that Big the Cat is back? Talk about a trip down memory lane!
2. God of War: Ragnarok
RELEASE DATE: November 9, 2022
The biggest PlayStation exclusive scheduled to release this year is God of War: Ragnarok. In this game, you’ll set out on a journey across all nine Realms as Kratos. Joining him on this adventure is his son, Atreus, as they try and survive Fimbulwinter. For those of you who aren’t well-versed in Norse mythology, Fimbulwinter is the final winter which alludes to the end of the world.
All eyes have been on Sony since they announced that this game is in the works. Now that we’re less than a month away from playing as Kratos once more, the hype is definitely real. Players can also expect all kinds of changes coming to God of War, especially with its combat system and Kratos’ abilities.
3. Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0
RELEASE DATE: November 16, 2022
Following the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Warzone 2.0 will launch. Aside from it being a Call of Duty game, the cherry on top of this release is that it’s going to be free-to-play.
The massive battle royale game will feature new maps, guns, and overall gameplay for fans of the hit shooter series. Activision also promised Warzone 2.0 supports cross-play, so you’ll definitely have a great time on the battlefield with your buddies across all platforms.

1. Marvel’s Midnight Suns
RELEASE DATE: December 2, 2022
It looks like this Marvel release is rivaling Gotham Knights (releasing in October 2022) but the difference is that Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be available on the PlayStation 4. In this role-playing game from Firaxis Games, we’ll get to fight alongside some of the most iconic characters in comic book history.
To complete the entire role-playing experience this game wants to deliver, players can create their own superhero called “The Hunter”. After it was announced last year, superhero fans and gamers alike have been looking forward to its release.
2. The Callisto Protocol
RELEASE DATE: December 2, 2022
Looking for a great horror game? We highly suggest you wait for The Callisto Protocol to release once December comes around. Although it isn’t in the spirit of Halloween anymore, we’re sure you’ll enjoy this game as Glen Schofield, the person responsible for the Dead Space series brings us The Callisto Protocol.
