If Hogwarts Legacy is getting its own PlayStation-exclusive quests, Sony made sure to celebrate God of War: Ragnarok’s launch with its own DualSense controller. With limited edition items like this, one can only wonder if the God of War: Ragnarok DualSense controller is worth it now that you can pre-order the item.
This marks the first time Sony is releasing a limited edition controller for a PlayStation exclusive. God of War: Ragnarok is gearing up to be one of the most anticipated game releases this 2022.
God of War: Ragnarok’s DualSense controller represents Kratos and Atreus in its design
When Sony unveiled the design for this limited edition DualSense controller, our eyes immediately caught sight of the insignia on the touchpad. The two howling creatures obviously represent the protagonists of God of War: Ragnarok. We’re just not sure if they’re both wolves or the bigger one is a bear while the smaller one is a wolf.
Nonetheless, Sony thinks they’re symbolical enough to be part of the newest God of War trailer. The height and size difference of both creatures may represent Kratos and Atreus.
- The smaller one may represent Atreus, sleek yet cunning.
- As for the larger one, this alludes to Kratos’ large and tough build as he protects Atreus throughout their journey.
Taking a look at the body of the DualSense controller, the cool blue and white color scheme of the controller looks like it’s cold to the touch. Some of the footage we’ve seen from God of War: Ragnarok shows Kratos traversing through the snow, so it might be referencing that particular in-game detail.
It’s also worth noting that God of War: Ragnarok takes place during the Fimbulwinter. This season is an everlasting winter which means that the world is ending, according to Norse mythology.
How to pre-order the limited edition God of War DualSense controller
Sony hasn’t released details about the God of War controller yet so we don’t know how much it’s going to cost. Colored controllers for the PS5 go for as much as $75 on the market. Given that this is a limited edition controller inspired by God of War: Ragnarok, we can only imagine that its price tag will be higher than that.
This DualSense controller releases once God of War: Ragnarok comes out this November 9, 2022. In the USA, pre-orders for the God of War Ragnarok PS5 controller will be available all day.
Sony is opening pre-orders for this controller on September 27, so remember to set your alarms extra early on that day. Major game retailers like Amazon and GameStop may take pre-orders for the God of War controller. It’s also expected to be available through PlayStation Direct on September 27.
Because of the hype surrounding God of War: Ragnarok, it’s possible that the demand for this DualSense controller is going to be high. Prepare to fight against scalpers and eager fans if you’ve got your eyes set on this DualSense controller.

Fans of the God of War games should consider getting this controller to complete the entire Ragnarok experience on November 9. It’s definitely going to be a collector’s item once it sells out, that’s for sure.
