A public figure named Andrew Tate is being talked about all over the internet. The former professional kickboxer now seems like a content creator or influencer figure on Instagram. He is being called out multiple times for his problematic statements. However, his fame continuously thrives precisely because of the attention he is getting.
He would make controversial comments about women, gender, and class. These reach several public platforms thus making his name more famous. As the saying goes, “bad publicity is good publicity, ” and Andrew Tate is making the most of it.
The danger relies on his platform. Not only does he have 4.5 million followers on Instagram, but his videos are also famous on TikTok (11.6 billion times). Moreover, he is in several YouTube videos or podcast shows to increase his fame and brand.
His videos spread hate and threatening ideologies that reach and endanger a significant number of people. To make things worse, the majority of his audience are men who incorporate his ideals on real situations and relationships.

Regardless of the damage, Andrew Tate refuses to be accountable for his actions.
His rise to ‘fame’
- In 2016, just right after being cast in Big Brother, he was instantly ejected due to viral videos. The first video was of him hitting a woman with a belt. The second video rose shortly after, where he is telling a woman to count the bruises he did to her. However, both Tate and the women denied the abuse and claimed that the clips were consensual sex.
- He also posted homophobic and racial slurs on his Twitter page. In September 2017, he stated that depression “isn’t real” and that women should “bear some responsibility” for being raped. Therefore, these problematic statements led him to be barred from Twitter.
- Unfortunately, regardless of his dangerous ideals, his statements boosted his fame.
- In an article from The Guardian, he was a guest on InfoWars, a podcast of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones. He was also with far-right YouTuber Paul Joseph Watson. In addition, Andrew Tate met Donald Trump Jr. at Trump Tower, posting on Facebook afterward: “The Tate family support trump FULLY. MAGA!”
- Tate founded the “Hustler’s University,” a private online academy. Though it is not an accredited educational institution, members pay a monthly membership fee for the courses. He discusses topics about dropshipping and cryptocurrency trading. According to the website, Hustler’s University has over 127,000 paying members for a total of $6.3 million a month in profit.
- At Hustler’s University, Tate also encourages the members to post clips of his videos on different social media platforms. Therefore, further maximizing his reach.

From the podcast BFFs Pod, Tate stated that only men are acceptable to have multiple partners. He also mentioned the bible to further prove his misogynistic claims.

4. On mental health

- “Depression isn’t real. You feel sad, you move on. You will always be depressed if your life is depressing. Change it,” he started off.
- “There are very few fat lonely man, aged 60. With no money or family or hobbys. Who arnt depressed. – this is not a clinical disease.
- “It is a circumstance which they must change. Most “depressed” people are unhappy with their lives, too lazy to change it. That simple.”
- Then, he added: “Then they pretend they caught some disease to absolve all responsibility. ITS NOT MY FAULT IM SAD. Yes it is. People will do anything to absolve responsibilities. ITS NOT MY FAULT IM POOR/SAD/FAT/STUPID. Yes it is.
- “So people defend depression. They get angry when I say this. Because they need this bulls*** to justify their own failures.
- By admitting I’m right, they need to work hard to make themselves happy. To avoid the work – argue with me and pretend depression is a thing.”
- “Modern think bulls** has made trillions giving anti depressant pills when all they need is a better diet, exercise and a life purpose,” he continued.

Tate lives most of the time in Romania. Part of his reason is that he can actively be involved with corruption. In an article from AS, he stated how Eastern Europe’s accessibility.
“I like Eastern Europe as a whole because corruption is far more accessible,” said Tate while adding how he enjoys being able to buy off cops and other law enforcement officials so that they do not infringe on his business operations and personal habits.

In addition, he chose to live in Romania is to escape charges against him in the UK. Tate previously ran a cam girl business in Romania in 2017. In a now-deleted video from his YouTube channel, he stated that it is easier to get off rape charges in the country.
He explained that it’s “40 percent of the reason I moved to Romania,” Tate said: “I’m not a f****** rapist, but I like the idea of just being able to do what I want. I like being free.
Then, he added: “If you’re a man living in England or Germany or America or any of the western world right now you’ve decided to live in a country where any woman… at any point in the future can destroy your life.”

Finally, most of his viral controversial statements are those that intentionally attack or devalue women. These takes include “women can’t drive,” “men can cheat but women can’t,” or “18-19 year-old women are more attractive than 25 year-olds because they’ve been through less dick.”
In the BFF podcast, Tate has also made statements that objectified women and likened them to dogs.
“You can’t be responsible for something that doesn’t listen to you. You can’t be responsible for a dog if it doesn’t obey you, or a child if it doesn’t obey you, or a woman that doesn’t obey you.”
Involved in a Human-Trafficking Investigation
Beyond his controversial statements, Andrew Tate has also intentionally caused harm to women. An article from The Daily Beast reported that he is under a human-trafficking investigation.
Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism said the raid on the Tates’ house was part of an investigation that began after a woman was reported to be held at the house against her will. As the probe continued, it escalated to include “crimes of human trafficking and rape.”
During the raid, police found the American and a Romanian woman in the building. However, the U.S. State Department spokesperson declined to comment further. “We are aware of reports of a U.S. citizen held against their will in Romania,” the spokesperson said. “Due to privacy considerations, we have no further comment.”
Moreover, Tristan Tate also declined the report that there were women in their house. “No girls were found in my house, and nobody was arrested,” Tate said.

Furthermore, Andrew Tate also came to Instagram to deny the allegations. His post featured a staged interrogation with him smoking a cigar. “Officer…l think we can all agree that bitches love to lie,” Tate said in his caption.
The consequences
In an article from ED Times, a policy lead at Rape Crisis England and Wales named Amelia Handy explained Tate’s dangerous nature. “These videos are a clear example of rape culture, where rape and sexual violence are minimized and survivors are blamed for crimes committed against them,” she said.
Summing up, Andrew Tate having the power enough to say whatever he wants regardless of its damage is a grave concern.
“TikTok has a responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its users. By allowing these videos on their platform, they are failing to protect millions of young people who use their app.” Handy adds.
He has a huge platform that influences men to think, behave, and act like him. In addition, the allegations and investigation against him further prove the need to de-platform him. Or else, his ideologies propagate and we are multiple steps backward from making a safer world for women.
