Animal Crossing: Update 2.0.3 Patch Notes and Fixes

Animal Crossing is a social simulation game series by Nintendo, Monolith Soft, and NDcube. The latest installation in the series, Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released the last year. This game has just received another new update patch 2.0.3, fixing major issues.

Since the 2.0 update that was released this month, several issues have been identified. A continuous line of patches has been rolled out to fix these small issues that are affecting gameplay.
  • The latest patch last 23rd of November, brings two major changes, along with smaller ones in the game.
  • The first one resolves an issue that players faced in duplicating items following a specific method.
  • The second resolves an issue where the same character appears twice on the island where Paradise Planning is located. These changes are in specific reference to the paid DLC Animal Crossing: New Horizon- Happy Home Paradise.

This marks the 4th update in the month of November and the 3rd update since Happy Home Paradise DLC’s release.

While the update does not bring new content, they do resolve issues present. However, some players can use this glitch to their advantage.

  • If players do not install the last update, the bug is in the Room Sketch app which you can find on the NookPhone. After opening the app, players can place the items on the walls and enable windows for the room.
  • This will effectively trick the game into thinking that the items placed have actually been placed on the wall and not just in-app. Players will receive the items once windows are on, and the items will now double.

Such a bug can alter the economy of the entire game, and also goes against the very nature of the game. This is why Nintendo has released another update patch so quickly to prevent the exploitation of this bug.
