Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Eivor Is Not An Assassin Or A Templar
The latest edition of Game Informer Magazine has shed some light on some of the most interesting features in Ubisoft’s upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. According to the game’s producer Julien Laferrière, the game’s protagonist Eivor is neither an Assassin nor a Templar.

Laferrière spoke about Evior’s brother Sigurd who is also immensely important to the game’s story. It’s through Sigur that Eivor gets involved with the Assassin’s ( The Hidden Ones) and the Templar’s conflict. Even though Eivor helps the Old ones, he’s not “ideologically committed” to them.
Just like Kassandra or Alexios from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Eivor is more of a mercenary in this situation. Laferrière says, “It’s not as black and white as, ‘I’m 100-percent enemies with the Order of the Ancients, and 100-percent friends with the Hidden Ones.” While this may upset some of the fans, this also heavily resonates with the role-playing nature the series has adopted since its last two entries. In short, to provide more freedom and flexibility.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launches for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia on November 10 while the PS5 version hit the shelves on November 12, 2020.
