Assassin’s Creed: Will The New Chapter Be Set In China?
Assassin’s Creed is one of the longest-running Ubisoft series ever. In each chapter, it represents a centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with the use of free will, and the Templars, who also want peace, but through control and power.
The series features historical and sci-fi characters, intertwined with events and characters from the real world.
An interview given by Yves Guillemot to Gamersky’s microphones, rekindles the rumors in Assassin’s Creed Kingdom, the next chapter in the saga for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and, most likely, PS5 and Xbox Scarlett.
The CEO and founder of Ubisoft has had a dream in the drawer for a long time. A new title in the series set in China. Guillemot turned out to be fascinated by the idea.
Asked about this possibility, he explained in the interview:
It would be great to be able to do it. I can’t say much more today, but I think it would be great. As you may recall, we had an Assassin’s Creed in 2D set in China, I can say that this is something that sooner or later we would really like to be able to achieve.
As said by Guillemot himself, the Chinese scenario had already been addressed in the past, with the release of Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China which, however, stood as a spin-off with respect to the gameplay and the traditional structure of the series. What Guillemot would like is a work that becomes part of the main saga.
We remind you that the most recent Assassin’s Creed Odyssey took us to Ancient Greece. According to the latest rumors released, the next game on the clash between Assassins and Templars will transport us to the Norse world, struggling with galleys and Vikings.
And what do you think? Would you like the idea of an Assassin’s Creed set in China?
