CDPR: Cyberpunk 2077’s Development Is “Proceeding At Full Speed”
CD Projekt Red CFO Piotr Nielubowicz commented on the development of Cyberpunk 2077 earlier today and said its development “is proceeding at full speed.”
The project led by Head of Studio Adam Badowski has over four hundred people involved in it Piotr said, as we confirmed it earlier. In the quarter of Jan 1st-March 31st of 2019, CD Projekt Red spent a total of 25,183,000 PLN, i.e., $6,539,900 USD, on development of new video games and technologies, a big chunk of which was chiefly related to the development of Cyberpunk 2077.
“Top-notch development quality along with further effective marketing activities surrounding the release of Cyberpunk 2077, PR activities, hype building and involvement in fostering a strong gamer community will all significantly affect the market performance of the upcoming product,” CD Projekt Red writes in their financial statement of Q1 2019.
As Piotr mentions in the video, this year’s E3 is “the most important E3 fair in the Group’s history.” Additionally, he hints on some unannounced projects by saying, “We have a truly exciting line-up and cannot wait to present it!”
Talking about sales, the company wrote, “current results are strongly dependent on the popularity of Witcher-themed games already published by the Company, whereas in future reporting periods focus will shift to the development progress and market reception of Cyberpunk 2077 and further projects.”
Cyberpunk 2077 will have both private and public booths at E3 this year. Although public/press won’t be allowed to play it, CDPR representatives will still play the game in front of the live audience. There will be a sort of “cinema” and some presentations for the game.
