Cyberpunk 2077 2.0: How to Increase Cyberware Capacity

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 How to Increase Cyberware Capacity - Featured

The latest update for Cyberpunk 2077 delivered a massive change to the Cyberware system. To make the whole cyberpunk experience become more immersive, CD Projekt Red has added a capacity to a player’s Cyberware, limiting the number of technology players can install in V. Although this is usually a good thing, allowing for more strategic gameplay, it can be quite annoying to have your abilities limited. If you want to learn more about how to increase V’s Cyberware Capacity in Cyberpunk 2077, check out this guide.

What is Cyberware Capacity in Cyberpunk 2077?

In Cyberpunk 2077, Cyberware is the technology V can have installed in their body. The benefits of having Cyberware in V are improved abilities and stats. This is particularly useful if you’re facing off against tough enemies that would stop at anything to take you down. Aside from improving V’s combat abilities, the importance of having Cyberware equipped on V is high, as it directly affects your Armor stat in the game.

Cyberware can be installed in the different parts of V’s body. Here are the categories of Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077:

  • Cyberdeck
  • Frontal Cortex
  • Operating System
  • Ocular System
  • Face
  • Arms
  • Hands
  • Skeleton
  • Nervous System
  • Circulatory System
  • Integumentary System
  • Legs

How to Increase Cyberware Capacity

There are a few ways you can increase your Cyberware Capacity. In the latest update, CD Projekt Red has changed the requirements you must meet to equip whatever Cyberware you want on V. Instead of your Armor stat relying on the clothing you have equipped, Armor points now come from Cyberwares.

When bringing up the Cyberware menu, take note of the yellow bars on the left side of your screen. You can see that the more Cyberware you equip, the higher the bars go. Each Cyberware also takes up a different amount of your Capacity, so if you want more, then you’ll definitely need to increase your character’s limit in Cyberpunk 2077.

Here are a few ways you can do this:

  • equipping either the Edgerunner or Renaissance Punk Perk
  • locating Cyberware Capacity Shards
  • increase Engineer Skill

and, of course,

  • progressing and leveling up your character

Edgerunner and Renaissance Punk Perks

Investing in these perks is one of the quickest ways to increase your Cyberware Capacity in Cyberpunk 2077. Both the Edgerunner and Renaissance Punk perks each give their own improvement on how much Cyberware you can have equipped on V.

  • Edgerunner – Once you invest in this perk, it will give you a +50 Cyberware Capacity. However, one of the downsides to this perk is you will lose 0.5% of your max health for every point you exceed on your Cyberware Capacity. This will make you quite the easy target for enemies you come across in the game.
  • Renaissance Punk – This is an alternative for players who don’t want to risk losing almost 25% of their max health. This perk gives you +4 Cyberware Capacity for each attribute that is nine or more. Unfortunately, getting attributes to at least a nine means you’ll have to be at a high level if you want to use this perk.

Cyberware Capacity Shards

If you want to avoid using perks to increase your Cyberware Capacity in Cyberpunk 2077, there’s also the option to look for Progression Shards. The only challenge posed by this method is that these Shards are not at all easy to find.

It will require extra patience as you need to loot enemies or look for containers found across the open-world map of Cyberpunk 2077.

Increase Engineer Skill

Increasing your Engineer Skill in Cyberpunk 2077 allows you to increase your Cyberware Capacity.

  • At Engineering Level 10, your Cyberware Capacity is increased by 5
  • At Engineering Level 30, it is increased by 10

Here are a few ways to progress and increase your Engineer Skill in the game:

  • Crafting items
  • Disabling or overloading devices like turrets
  • Using and throwing grenades or projectile launch Cyberware to defeat enemies
  • Using Tech weapons to kill enemies
  • Defeating enemies with DoT (damage over time) or elemental damage attacks
  • Taking apart or disassembling weapons and clothing items

Level Up

Finally, the most common way to increase your Cyberware Capacity in the game is to level up your character. If you have performed a respec on your Cyberpunk 2077 game, V will have 24 Cyberware Capacity at their disposal. As you level up, this increases by +3 points.

The best way to level up fast in Cyberpunk 2077 is by completing the Main Jobs and Side Quests in the game.

How to Uninstall Cyberware

If you want to uninstall (and reinstall) Cyberware, all you need is to visit a Ripperdoc. This allows you to change or mix up the Cyberware you want to equip on your character.
