Fortnite, a popular online game by Epic Games, was released in 2017. It’s now playable on the Xbox 360. One of the most popular game types is Battle Royale, in which up to 100 players are thrown onto an island and compete to be the last guy standing. You must build structures and scavenge for weapons in order to win the game.

Crashing In Xbox Series X

A game fault that can be fixed by updating it, a broken cached file, or lost stored data can all cause Fortnite to crash on your Xbox Series X, and all of them need substantial debugging.

When playing this game, one of the drawbacks you may have is that it crashes. This crash can occur either before or during the game, making for a miserable experience. Here’s what you’ll need to do to get everything back on track.

Before you do these steps you must:

  1. Check to see if your Xbox is up to current on software.
  2. Make sure you’re running the most recent Fortnite version.

Fix 1
Restart Fortnite
  • A brief software issue is one of the most common causes of game crashes. You might try closing the game and then reopening it to see if that helps.
Steps
Restart the game
  1. Press the Xbox button.
  2. Highlight the title.
  3. Press Menu.
  4. Select Quit
  5. Start Fortnite.

Restart Xbox Series X
  • A power cycle refreshes the Xbox and can generally resolve issues caused by a software error.
Steps
Restart Console
  1. Press the Xbox button on your controller.
  2. Select Profile & system.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. General.
  5. Select Power mode & startup.
  6. Select Full shutdown.

Fix 3
Use Different Profile
  • If your game profile data is corrupted, this can be one of the causes.
  • Using a different profile, you can see if this is the problem.
Steps
Profile Check
  1. On the controller, press the Xbox button.
  2. Select Profile & System from the drop-down menu.
  3. Toggle between Add and Switch.
  4. Attempt to use a different profile. If there is only one profile available, choose to Add new to create a new profile that you can use for checking.

Fix 4
Delete local save file
  • It’s possible that the game’s local save file will become corrupted. If this is the source of the problem, you’ll need to remove the file and resync with the cloud.
Steps
Delete file
  1. On your controller, press the Xbox button.
  2. Open My games & apps from the Home tab.
  3. Choose the option to see everything.
  4. Then hit the menu button on the controller to select Fortnite.
  5. Choose Manage game and add-ons from the drop-down menu.
  6. Choose Saved data.
  7. To delete the local save data, select Delete all.

Fix 5
Reinstall Fortnite
  • If the problem persists after following the troubleshooting methods we’ve provided, you should consider uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

    I’m not even getting an error message. I just get the loading screen with it saying loading, then boots me off the Xbox to the input screen the the counsel is powered off but it’s still on 🙁
