Fortnite: Sideways Scythe, How To Get

With Season 8 in full swing in Fortnite, new features and weapons are being added. One of the striking features of Fortnite Season 8 is The Sideways. It is a world of its own that pulls players into it through Anomalies and Zones. This world is where players will encounter Cube entities such as Monsters; while also discovering weapons such as the Minigun and Sideways Rifle.

A new melee weapon, the Sideways Scythe, has made its way into Season 8 of Fortnite with the 18.21 update. It is also part of the Fortnitemares event.

“The Cube Queen’s wrath has given rise to a new Sideways weapon — the sinister Sideways Scythe — as well as returning items like Witch Brooms and the Pumpkin Rocket Launcher. Use the Scythe and these wicked supplies to hold your own in battle.”

Similar to other Sideways weapons, the Sideways Scythe can be obtained by looting Sideways dimensions. It can also be obtained by defeating Caretaker bosses in battle. Caretaker bosses are large and strong foes who wander the island and can suck players into the Sideways dimension to battle if disturbed.

The Caretakers are described as the Cube Queen’s strongest soldiers yet, meaning that much stronger enemies might be coming in the future. Anyway, defeating a Caretaker will allow players to “walk away from all the richer”, and the Sideways Scythe might be among those riches.

While it is not very easy to defeat Caretaker bosses, they are one of two ways to get the magnificent and powerful scythe.
