Game of Thrones: Mobile RPG Announced By Netmarble

BY JC Paredes 4 years AGO 2 MIN READ

An open-world mobile MMORPG based on the Game of Thrones universe has recently been unveiled by Netmarble. Westeros, here we come!

  • Iron Throne, a mobile multiplayer game based on Game of Thrones, was launched by Netmarble a few years ago. However, there is no question that this one’s objectives were a far way from the new title’s goals.
  • Netmarble Neo is working with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and HBO to create the next massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Game of Thrones. Apparently, it’ll recreate Westeros in an open environment and tell a fresh tale.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the game. For example, we know it will be launched exclusively on mobile devices, but which ones? We don’t know the final title or release date either. As the game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, Netmarble Neo promises “hyper-realistic console-quality” visuals. For now, we’ll have to wait and see how the game looks on our devices before we can give it a proper review.

As with any MMO, we should expect a robust multiplayer experience as well as a rich single-player one that will be shaped by community activities. Netmarble Neo CEO Park Beom-jin, who is in charge of the game’s development, boasts that the company has combined the rich single-player experience with the stunning large-scale multiplayer experience into a single game. The game will showcase dynamic weather in a promised massive Westeros, where heavy combat will take place.

Since the tale will take place within the same time period as the main plot but in parallel to it, it will cover a story that hasn’t yet been revealed (at least in the series; we don’t have any specifics on the “unpublished” version of events yet). You’ll recognize some of the characters from the film. According to Park Beom-jin, fans of the series may achieve their ambition of forming a story in this world that is exactly like the one you read in the book.

Since March 2021, I've worn two hats at Spiel Times: a writer and a Managing Editor. In my writing role, I've earned recognition from Wikipedia and Nev Schulman (Catfish TV Show host) for my insightful analysis and engaging narrative style. I'm passionate about all things gaming, with a keen eye for detail and a knack for uncovering hidden secrets within games. My gaming journey began at a young age, captivated by titles like Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. Today, I enjoy exploring open-world RPGs and MMORPGs, consumed by their lore and crafting theories about their narratives. I'm also drawn to the suspenseful atmosphere of horror games and the intricate narratives of crime-themed titles, bringing a unique perspective to my writing. Beyond gaming, I have a fascination with anything unexplained and chilling, a passion that often spills over into my exploration of horror games. When I'm not engrossed in a virtual world, you can find me curled up and spending time with my adorable doggy sidekick, Teemo. As Managing Editor, I'm committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for our writing team. I communicate openly with my team members, addressing any content-related issues and providing guidance to help them excel.
