Now that Genshin Impact 2.7 is happening, Travelers got their usual Livestream last May 20. The release date, events, and limited-time banners were revealed in the special program for Genshin Impact 2.7. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming patch.
Genshin Impact 2.7 takes Travelers to “Hidden Dreams in the Depths”
To pick up from patch 2.6, the newest patch has Travelers journeying deeper into The Chasm. But this time, Travelers won’t be alone as they’re joined by familiar faces: Arataki Itto and Yanfei. Moreover, two new figures are joining your party: Yelan and Kuki Shinobu.
Check out the heart-pumping trailer of Genshin Impact Version 2.7: Hidden Dreams in the Depths.

Make your way out of The Chasm by unraveling its secrets
In the trailer, it’s revealed that Yelan has been observing The Chasm for a long time. In the previous Archon Quest, we find out a little bit of history regarding Khaenri’ah and the secrets of Liyue. Yelan seems interested in what happened during the fall of Khaenri’ah since it may have something to do with her own history.
But other than Yelan having an interest in The Chasm, a familiar yaksha appears at the start of the trailer. Xiao and the yakshas are also connected to The Chasm. However, the trailer left Travelers with lots of questions. If Genshin Impact decides to go in Honkai Impact 3’s direction, we may get a character death in the new patch.
Character and Weapon Banners
In the first phase of Genshin Impact 2.7, Travelers can wish for Yelan and Xiao. The weapon banners will feature both Yelan and Xiao’s BiS weapons, the Aqua Simulacra, and Primordial Jade Winged Spear.
And in the second phase, Arataki Itto is getting his rerun. Kuki Shinobu can also be obtained via Itto’s banner.
New events in Genshin Impact 2.7
Perilous Trail
This new exploration team will now make their way into the depths of The Chasm to learn more about the secrets of Liyue. And not only that, but it seems Xiao is dealing with something related to the yakshas. The Traveler and his companions need to find a way out of The Chasm as they remain trapped there, not knowing what kind of danger is lurking in every corner.
Completing this event rewards Travelers with a new four-star bow, the Fading Twilight. And similar to the previous event in Enkanomiya, progressing through the event gives players the weapon’s ascension materials.

Realms of Guile and War
In this event, Travelers need to form parties and put their fighting skills to the test. The new event Realms of Guile and War unlocks along with Perilous Trail, the main event in patch 2.7. But although it sounds like a simple combat event, it requires careful planning before taking on the domains.
There are four domains in this event wherein Travelers need to fight against mobs of enemies. However, each domain has a unique challenge. One of the domains in the trailer is the Kaleidoscope Cage Domain. For this domain, two random members in the current party can be unusable while fighting through the domain.
It seems HoYoverse is kicking it up a notch with these combat challenges they release every patch. So with all that being said, it’s time for Travelers to level up their characters to easily clear this event.
A Muddy Bizarre Adventure
This next event takes place in The Chasm again. For this one, Travelers meet with Hosseini, the scholar from Sumeru. This time, he enlists the Traveler’s help in cleaning up the dark ooze coming from the depths of The Chasm. However, it’s not as easy as scooping up the ooze.
Travelers need to use their Lumenstone Adjuvant and the Pursina’s Spike in clearing out the mud-like substance. There are various challenges included in this event. But we advise Travelers to make their party stronger before this event comes so they won’t have a hard time dealing with the enemies and objectives.
The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival
We’re getting a new rhythm game in this new event. According to Itto, this festival is in celebration of Kuki Shinobu graduating from law school. It takes place in Inazuma and according to Itto, it’s going to be bigger than the previous Irodori Festival. Moreover, The Almighty Arataki Great and Glorious Drumalong Festival in Genshin Impact 2.7 gives Travelers a new instrument in the shape of a drum.
And to address issues in previous rhythm games, the game’s devs added calibration settings. With this feature, Travelers can calibrate their device and fix input lag before trying out the songs included in the rhythm game.
The Livestream also revealed that all songs in the drum rhythm game are automatically unlocked once Travelers access the event. And not only that, but Travelers can also create their own stages and share them with other players. However, Travelers need to complete their custom stage first to make sure it’s actually doable.
Core of the Apparatus
Finally, the last event for Genshin Impact patch 2.7 is the Core of the Apparatus. In this event, Travelers will build robots that, if successful, can be placed in their Serenitea Pot. Travelers will assist a toy merchant from Fontaine who instructs us on how to create these robots. Moreover, Travelers can send these robotic furnishings to their friends after they make them.

Quality of Life improvements in Genshin Impact version 2.7
There will be different kinds of QOL improvements in the game’s new update.
Domain hints
According to the Livestream, Travelers can access a feature that provides challenge hints for domains. These hints aim to help Travelers easily clear out the domain and defeat powerful enemy bosses.
Talent Update Recommendation
Another new feature coming to version 2.7 deals with the Talent Priority of characters. Data collected from other Travelers using a specific character can be accessed. This way, Travelers know which Talent to prioritize in leveling up or crowning before they spend their farmed materials.
Artifact Reference
And finally, the Artifact Reference feature is coming to Genshin Impact. In this feature, Travelers can find out which artifact stat for each slot is used for a particular character. Similar to the Talent Priority feature, these data is based on active players using a certain character.
