What is Cake for Traveler in Genshin Impact?
The Cake for Traveler in Genshin Impact is a Very Special Item, according to the game’s description. It is also found in the Precious Items section if you go into your Inventory. At the moment, there are two types of Cakes which Travelers can obtain as they keep playing the hit gacha game.
The official game description of the Cake for Traveler reads as follows:
“A gift given to a very special someone on a very special day. Here’s to you, the brightest star in the night sky. Wishing you a joyous journey in this great big world.”
As mentioned, there are two types of Cake in Genshin Impact so far. The Year 1 Birthday Cake was given to players who already had accounts from Genshin’s release up until their first anniversary (From September 21, 2020 to September 28, 2020).
For the Year 2 Birthday Cake, this is the Cake given to Travelers after Genshin Impact celebrated their first anniversary (September 28, 2021 onwards). Additionally, the Year 2 Cake for Traveler has hints of Liyue in its design.
As for the upcoming Cake for Traveler, rumors say that its design is inspired by the region of Inazuma.

How and where to use Cake in Genshin Impact
Consuming the Cake for Traveler in Genshin Impact does not remove the item from your inventory. If you’re running low on Fragile Resin, the Cake is exchangeable for one piece of Fragile Resin.
But if you’re worried that the Cake disappears from your Inventory forever, don’t worry! Genshin Impact still gives you a replica of the Cake for Traveler after you consume it for some Fragile Resin.
It’s pretty handy for Travelers who are running low on Resin and need a quick pick-me-up. However, Travelers do not get any amount of Primogems along with the Birthday Cake, much to the disappointment of some players.
How to change your birthday in the game
If you won’t be celebrating your birthday anytime soon but you want to get the Cake for Traveler, here’s a quick method on how to do that. Additionally, you can also follow this guide if you haven’t set your birthday in Genshin Impact yet.
Take note that you can only change your birthday once. So make sure that you’re putting in the right date.
- Bring up the Paimon menu
- Press the Pencil icon beside your character name
- Under ‘Edit nickname’, you will find an option to edit your birthday
- Then, set the day and month of your birthday
- Afterwards, you’re all set!
All you have to do now is wait for your birthday gift from Genshin Impact once your special day comes around.
