Genshin Impact: Fishing System, All We Know So Far

Genshin Impact is one of the biggest games today and it isn’t going to stop being big anytime soon. Even after its biggest 2,0 update last month, Genshin Impact doesn’t stop treating its fans. At the beginning of the month, we already have some delightful information about the 2.1 update. The information pertains to the new fishing system and here’s what you should know.

In the game’s upcoming update, all eyes will be on the fishing system. It would be a new feature in Genshin Impact and is slated to release on September 1, 2021. Finally, we have some more information about the fishing system, though most of them are based on leaks from the leaker UBatcha.

The Fishing System

• There are around 20 types of fish and each of these fish have an “ornamental” and “Non-Ornamental” Type
• Ornamental fishes are caught and sent to the Serenitea Pot inventory
• Non-Ornamental fishes are caught and added to the materials section of the Inventory
• Ornamental and non-ornamental fishes will have the same model, though they can be differentiated
• When fishing, you can differentiate the ornamental from the non-ornamental fish since the ornamental fish jump out of the water and are a bit more difficult to catch
• You can choose the bait before fishing and can also switch between the bait while fishing.
• There are currently 5 types of bait, and a specific kind of bait will only work on a specific kind of fish
• If you throw the line too close to the fish while fishing, it will get startled and swim away
• It will take around 20 to 30 seconds from throwing the line to actually catching the fish itself. But the length may vary depending on your skills and the type of fish.

Some information regarding Honey Impact was leaked as well. Apparently, there will be specific places in the game known as fishing spots where the players can engage in fishing activities. Also, it is being said that it won’t just be a side activity as fishes will be used for a bunch of other things as well. What exactly will this new fishing bring, remains to be seen.
