The Chasm introduces new side quests to Genshin Impact in its 2.6 update. One of these side quests is opening the “Locked Gate in the Nameless Ruins.” To do this, you need to find all of the Orbs of the Blue Depths. In this guide, we’ll tell you how and where to get all nine Orbs.
Orb of the Blue Depths Locations
To obtain all nine Orbs of the Blue Depths, travelers need to defeat nine Shadowy Husks in Genshin Impact’s The Chasm. After defeating a Shadowy Husk, it will drop one Orb which gets automatically added to your inventory after the fight. There is no required order to defeat these Shadowy Husks. However, we highly advise that you take note of the location and its name. This helps to make sure that you won’t mix them up.
First Orb of the Blue Depths – Edgetho: Breaker of the Oath of Silence
Reaching Edgetho is quite challenging since you can’t use the waypoint south of the Underground Waterway.
To get to Edgetho, use the waypoint south of The Chasm: Main Mining Area and keep heading west. Run along the wall and you’ll find Edgetho in no time.
Second Orb of the Blue Depths – Haltaf: The Young
To get to Haltaf, use the waypoint near the Ruin’s Serpent.
After getting there, jump down and you’ll see Haltaf waiting for you.
Third Orb of the Blue Depths – Buliwyf: Guardian of the Desolation
Unlike the previous Shadowy Husk, Buliwyf is hidden in sight. To gain access to his location, use the waypoint in Stony Halls and glide south.
Look to the east side of the area until you see a rectangular room popping out from the wall. If you use Geo abilities or attack the cracked wall with a Claymore, it will break and reveal Buliwyf inside the room.
Fourth Orb of the Blue Depths – Herger: Jester of Bloody Tears
Use the waypoint at the center of The Glowing Narrows and head east.
Afterwards, find a cracked wall with explosive Geo mushrooms in front of it. Use these Geo mushrooms to make the wall explode and you’ll find Herger behind it.
Fifth Orb of the Blue Depths – Hyglacg: Rebuked Servant
By using the waypoint near the Underground Waterway, you can easily find Hyglacg. Start moving south and go through the ruins. After some time of exploring, you’ll eventually see this Shadowy Husk in an open area.
Sixth Orb of the Blue Depths – Rethel: Slain of the Split Bow
Teleport to The Glowing Narrows and head west.
Once you come across a drop-off, jump down and you will see Rethel staring at a Lumenspar.
Seventh Orb of the Blue Depths – Roneth: Banished Knight
If you teleport to the waypoint east of The Glowing Narrows, you can easily get to Roneth’s location.
Follow the path and trigger the exploding Geo mushrooms.
Afterwards, jump down and you’ll find Roneth waiting at the bottom.
Eighth Orb of the Blue Depths – Serkir: Scribe of Swords
Head to the southwest corner of the Nameless Ruins.
Once you get to the rocky area where the oozing mud does not cover the ground, you’ll eventually see him waiting for you.
Ninth Orb of the Blue Depths – Skeld: Augur of the Mirrors
If you want to gain access to Skeld’s location, you first need the Miner’s Key. If you don’t have this quest item yet, you can read our guide on how to get the Miner’s Key here. Once you have the item, head to the locked room west of the Ad-Hoc Main Tunnel.
After entering the area, jump to the bottom of the room and look for the locked gate where you can use the Miner’s Key. Finally, you’ll be face to face with Skeld after unlocking the gate.
Where to use the Orbs of the Blue Depths in The Chasm
Collecting all nine Orbs will allow you to unlock a secret room in the Nameless Ruins. To reach this area, go to the upper levels in the upside-down city in the Nameless Ruins.
Then, look for a cube mechanism in the area and interact with it so you can insert the Orbs.
Afterwards, you’ll unlock the secret room where you’ll be rewarded with three chests and a Mysterious Letter. Additionally, you’ll get the achievement “Crede Tenebrae.”
