Gather up Grand Theft Auto fans, as a thrilling development is in the spotlight. Rockstar Games has recently taken over Cfx.re, the masterminds behind the monumental Rockstar roleplay and creator communities. This surprising move comes from past tensions between Rockstar and modders. “Over the past few years, we’ve watched with excitement as Rockstar’s creative community have found new ways to expand the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, particularly through the creation of dedicated roleplay servers,” the studio conveyed in a post on the Rockstar Newswire website.Â
They added, “As a way to further support those efforts, we recently expanded our policy on mods to officially include those made by the roleplay creative community.”
With Cfx.re now officially part of Rockstar, it’s intriguing to ponder how their involvement will shape the upcoming updates. Nevertheless, there are currently no official details or plans available.
Mods as DLC: A future possibility?
The acquisition of Cfx.re represents more than an acknowledgment of fan-driven creativity. It signals Rockstar’s grander aims for GTA’s multiplayer realm.
- The idea of GTA 6 embracing official roleplay servers brings a rush of excitement, hinting at an exciting and creative adventure that goes beyond anything seen in the franchise before.
- This strategic move also paves the way for modders to create official game modifications potentially.
Rockstar buying and including the Cfx.re team in their company aims to “help them find new ways to support this incredible community and improve the services they provide to their developers and players,” as stated by the studio.
What was once a specialized interest within GTA, reserved for those skilled in the complexities of game modification, is now on the brink of becoming a widespread sensation. Imagine immersing yourself in the world of Grand Theft Auto as a taxi driver, a political leader, or even an enigmatic serial killer.
As official support grows stronger, we might witness significant improvements in overall gameplay experience. Rockstar could seize the chance to explore new opportunities behind the scenes.
Rockstar and the Cfx.re team haven’t disclosed their specific plans for FiveM and RedM. However, players of GTA RP and Grand Theft Auto Online can envision the potential for mods changing into DLCs in the future or even developing into an official gameplay mode within the expansive world of GTA 6. Who knows?
